I know I already voted but I have to add Wolfmother. They suck and decided it'd be cool to revive old crappy rock and suck at it. It'd be a great idea except I sold my camaro and threw away my denim jacket decades ago.

Man, what a bunch of lame nominations. Clearly it has to be someone like Ashley Simpson (since the OP said individuals count). Pretty much everyone people have named thus far are clearly better than her. Seriously, get off the lame ass emo kick. The term is so broad it's meaningless.

i can agre with 3/4 of those... dunno if u2 belongs in that list.... i'm not a u2 fan, but they're not anywhere close to as bad as metallica, kiss, or ozzy/black sabbath.

Dissection:
Singer Jon Nödtveidt convicted and does time in prison for felony murder charges. Gets out of prison, records a new album written behind bars, plays a handful of sold-out shows and then when he's on top of his game, healthy and happy... kills himself in a satanic ritualistic way. Woo!

Entry #2

Mayhem:
Singer "Dead" kills himself with a shotgun after slitting his wrists and leaving a note that read, "excuse all the blood". Guitar player "Euronymous" breaks in, sees body and runs to the store to buy a disposable camera, takes pictures of the body, takes skull fragments and makes necklaces of the pieces. Uses photos on a future band release. The bass player, Kristian Vikernes (aka Varg Vikernes, Count Grishnackh) later killed the guitar player (Euronymous) ending in 23 stab wounds total. When talking to the police, he said most of the wounds were from him falling on a lamp.

Craziest, definitely. Worst.. I dunno.. Black metal is pretty horrible by most standards, so perhaps this is the thread ender 🙂

fallout boy does not belong in the same sentence as dashboard, for one. you got pop-rock, and then real emo. listen to dashboard's lyrics.. got meaning
and coheed? oh i can understand not liking the voice, but one saying they are emo and a bad band is insane. you should be able to hear the talent in claudio's guitar work and the bassist's work, the dueling between the two in songs is great. plus the lyrics aren't emo if you know what they mean. the albums are all apart of a massive story spanning 5 chapters (each album is a chapter, so far chapters 2,3,4 are released, 5 coming up in the next album, followed by 1).

when i think of 'worst band ever' im thinking of bands that have no talent, not a band that falls under a certain musical genre that I happen not to like. look at their musical work and their ability to write lyrics, that should come under fire. if the lyrics are too deep for you to understand, don't hate. 😉

nickleback might have to be my pick, just because i dont feel like actually thinking right now.
 
just because you personally can't stand a band doesn't make them the worst band ever. but since everyone is going with their bias i'll add some
