I also feel compelled to add that I could not live without several of the tracks off of Slipknot's first album. Their subsequent releases didn't do much for me, but the first album had some great songs. "Scissors" still gives me goosebumps.

Naah I actually dig a couple Garth Brooks songs, but his attempt to break into mainstream pop was hilarious.

What? This isn't a thread for most overrated (though I don't think either band is, but that's not the point).
And, you must be referring to the last 2 System of a Down albums, where they gave much of the singing duties to Daron (not Serj, who sang for most of the previous albums). I didn't really like that either, though I still thought their music was decent.

So, in a thread about the "worst" band, you feel that such contenders as ICP, Nickleback, Fallout Boy, etc are all superior musicians?

I'd say they're all equally bad. The thing of it is though, I don't see perfectly sane people obsessing about any of the bands you mentioned.
Look, I think The Doors are crap. What Morrison passes as drug-induced poetry with lazily written, drabily mixed music is awful. You guys can like them all you want, I respect that. I also respect people who are in love with ICP. I think Pink Floyd and David Bowie were much more superior bands.
I don't understand why you keep bringing up "poetry". Poetry is English, music is a different category. Bands make music...lyrics are just something for the voice to do to fill it's role as an instrument, IMO. I hear music for it's notes, not for it's drug-induced meaning. But once again, to each their own.
