I'm liking the fast scans of Nod from what I've read but Kapersky sounds more robust. I have Norton professional 2004, works well but is a resource hog.

Meditate on this I will....

I prefer Kaspersky, but others prefer NOD32. It's really a Coke or Pepsi choice. You can't go wrong with either one, really. Just get rid of NAV. :D

It would be funnier if they called it Norton Anti Detection.

I'm leaning towards NOD32 but will sleep on it.

See: http://www.av-comparatives.org/

The "On-demand comparative" indicates Kaspersky is best overall with current signatures. The Aug 2005 "report" (3rd link) has a summary table on page 3 that indiactes how long it takes for AV signatures to ID samples missed in the feb 05 test. This really shows how good Kaspersky is at maintaining their signatures. Nod32 missed around 18000 samples in feb to Kaspersky's miss of around 1500! Nod didn't catch up until August!

The "Retrospective/ProActive Test" indicates Nod32 is best overall at heuristic detection.

If you update your AV daily (who doesn't?), Kaspersky is the best AV overall.

NOD32 FTW!
Itt's fast, stable and uses a lot of resources.
It has never failed me.
