This is coming from a full T6 Protection endgame MT in the top 25 Worldwide with a Merc Glad title. The two years I spent playing EQ turned out to be the biggest waste of time in my entire life - and I played EQ for a solid 6 years and don't regret a single minute of any of it.

Blizzard is a sellout consumer whore that had a good thing going and trashed it to appease their dumbed down retarded casual retard demographic. Fuck them and the train they rode in on.

You amuse me, lol.

The game was not made for you, the top % of hardcore players. At least you shouldn't believe it was.

That's the geekiest post I have ever read.
(and really a very ignorant post too)

Bliz is a business. They cater to the majority first and foremost. If that makes it a scrubfest in the eyes of hardcore gamers, then so be it.

The car that you drive in real life is also dumbed down so everybody can use it, btw. LOL @ elitist attitudes. You can say crap about Bliz all you want, but you can still be humble about yourself while doing it. Obviously someone missed that day in homeschool and it's no wonder everybody jumps on him.

Oh, BTW, being the MT in a guild is extremely boring to begin with. You may like the recognition (and from the sounds of it, you definitely did), but gameplay suffers.

Are you kidding me? WoW was a dumbed down mmorpg from the beginning.

Call it whatever you want. I simply consider it being passionate about a game I once considered to excel at all of my personal MMO criteria.

It changed it's business model and was no longer in line with my criteria. Unfortunately there is no now MMO which does, so I have been forced to stick to this real life craziness for a while now.

The WoW I once played has been ruined. If you like playing something dumbed down constantly to the lowest common denominator, more power to you. I don't, and I'm entitled to my opinion. Quite frankly, if you disagree that is your prerogative, but I still say you can go fuck yourself.

Oh, look at the internet badass.

I find the idea of raids ridiculous

How someone can have a life AND play this game seriously is beyond me

Yup, and I can guarantee that any MMO which becomes popular like WoW will end up doing the exact same thing. It is impossible to become that successful without doing so. Gamers with elitist tendencies that desire e-peens the size of the great wall of china should just go play an FPS or something where such a gamer atmosphere is achievable while still being successful in a business sense. If they stick to MMOs then they will be disappointed again and again unless they are willing to accept playing a game with only 500k-1 million subscribers.

Contacted WOW, I just need top fill out some papers and fax to them. They said once all of the information is verified they can reactivate the account. Also, there is a recovery process for all of my gear and things. ..thought i was screwed there. Well, I just PVP so would have just been a ton of arena again.

The dude who plays 3.5 hrs a night....I am sorry you have no life. =( Had a buddy that was addicted like that, very sad.

I personally believe that historical addiction to StarCraft and Diablo overseas taken into consideration, StarCraft quite possibly has the ability to ascend WoW in popularity.

I do it just fine. 2 nights of successful raiding per week (see previous post). Full time job. Wife. Kids. Family. Friends. All the usual time sinks in life.

Well I know I will rest easily now. Thank God you got the character back for a game you don't even like or play anymore!

Only 2 nights per week. Not every night.

3.5 hours a night really isnt that much

people that are addicted play 8+ hours a day, every day

A lot of people watch more TV than that per day. Personally, I have to mix things up throughout my week or else I will get bored, but when I am not playing WoW I am either watching TV/Movie with my girl or playing a different game. I can't really go out during the week after work because of my kid so it acts as a fun substitute. The weekends are a different story of course. I don't know why so many people look down on those kinds of weekly routines just because WoW happens to be a part of it.

Ummm..I am married with kids. I can not imagine taking 3.5 hrs away from them every night for a game. You need to get your priorities straight.

And if you are divorced (you said girl, not wife)...its no wonder.

Not worth the read. I was posting about a hijacked account and it turns into this crap.

And 3.5 hrs x 2 nights a week when you have kids...that is sad.

Not divorced and technically not married but we have been living together for over 3 years with child so the difference is paperwork. Also, many couples play the game together and have a lot of fun doing it. My girl enjoys that time together quite a bit. It's obviously about moderation. Also, keep in mind that everyone has different routines which make their family very happy. Don't put down one family's routine just because it may not work with your family.

actually YOU turned it into crap.

3.5hrs per night when you have kids isnt that big of a deal. My kids (4 and 6) are in bed by 8:00ish that leaves me with 3hrs (or more if I want to stay up "late") to do what I want. Watch TV, play video games, hang out with wife, do house work whatever. 9 times out fo 10 Im up "late" and watching TV or playing video games. So tell me, even though I have kids, what is "wrong" with that?
