I've been waiting for years now for a 4k FreeSync monitor with a refresh rate >60Hz, and a reasonable size for general desktop use (32-38"). I just checked what's available again today, and there's still nothing!

There are a couple of ones that look pretty good, like the Acer XV273K and Asus PG27UQ, but 27" just isn't big enough for 4k. On the other side of the size range there's the Asus XG438Q. I might just about accept the 43" size, even though it's larger than I really want, but a screen that size on a desktop needs good viewing angles, which it doesn't have.

Only one monitor in my preferred size range has even been announced for the future, the 32" Philips 328M1R, scheduled for next year, but it's a VA panel, so it probably also won't have good viewing angles, or colour accuracy.

I feel like there's something missing here. Surely there are enough people who want a monitor like this for it to be worth someone having made one by now?

I've been waiting for years too for 4K IPS 120hz. 27" is fine but they just cost so much, still. We've had 4K TV screens for 6+ years so it amazes me that even a bare bones 4K 60hz PC monitor is still so expensive.

Good suggestion. I use an LG 4K 27” display I bought 3.5 years ago. But unlike 4K TVs which dropped in price so quickly, it irritates me that innovation and prices move so slow with computer monitors.

I use a 43" 4k LG 60hz IPS monitor. (LG 43UD79-B)

It costs more than a TV of similar size, but it has displayport and behaves like a monitor should (low input latency, no overscan issues, 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, etc)

The newly announced 48" CX OLED from LG is certainly looking like attractive option though, 120hz 4k and good HDR, and LG was basically targeting it to PC gamers at CES with it hooked up to a gaming PC running some games.
The 48" size is large, but just barely within reasonable size for my desk. And 91 PPI, while not fantastic, is the same as a 24" 1080p screen, so it should be fine at normal desktop viewing distances.
