Says who? When it's released that's exactly how I'll be playing it on my PC. :)

Just because it's a PC, doesn't mean you have to play games on a 20-something inch screen with a keyboard and mouse. ;)

So you're playing with an Xbox 360 gamepad? Might as well have just played it months ago on the 360 itself, non?

Here's a wild theory:
NOT EVERYONE OWNS A 360.
I have no desire to buy a console that might work for a while or might not. I've always played on consoles because they were less of a hassle than PC's (except for my younger years with Sierra games and such).
I owned almost every console since Atari came on the scene, and the X360 and PS3 just aren't my thing. My HTPC does Blu-Ray/HD-DVD and the games I want come out for PC anyway.

Cause I already played it 5 months ago on PS3 at very high graphical settings... with a touch sensitive throttle and force feedback.

I played it on my 360 and still play it, awesome game. Nothing beats lying back in bed playing some GTA IV... cant do that on the pc :p

What? Noone said anything about screen size... I said i would lie in bed playing the 360, you cant lie in bed and play the PC... unless you play it with a gamepad in which case it might as well be the 360 version.

The PC had game controllers before consoles were around, so no, using a controller on the PC does not make it a console. ;)

Besides, the PC version will have better graphics and mods. It's really no contest.

I'm very interested about it, I'll be playing it with BOTH a 360 controller (for driving and moving around) and KB-M (for shooting) which according to IGN's latest preview works like a charm, high resolution, better draw distances and LOD and sharper graphics (GTA IV is very blurry), not to mention the video recording features.

The PC version is just the superior version, I'm really excited about it.

You do know that "very high graphical settings" on a console pale in comparison to the graphics on a PC right?

I'm counting the days! Anyone else?

Naw...the rave seems to be the fuss about DRM and how it's causing mass havoc in the gaming industry as a whole.. ;)

There are so many games out right now / being released soon [left 4 dead, dead space, wotlk expansion, far cry 2, etc] that I'll probably have time to play gta 4 when it hits the bargain bin. )

I'm getting my copy as soon as it is released! The PC versions of the GTA series are far superior to the consoles. No "kiddie" 360 controller for me!

PC versions of GTA are always a toss-up. One one hand you have more precise aiming, but the driving sucks because you don't have any analog control if you use keyboard/mouse. So you can use the gamepad, but then you lose the precise aiming.

Yes. Maybe everyone else upgrades regularly and can actually obtain those settings, but I'm not one of them. So even a console's regular settings take a dump on what my computer is capable of. THus, it is relatively 'very high' for slow upgraders such as me.

i tried it on my brothers ps3 and omg it was really shit, this is why im not intrested, its all been done before in GTA3 nothings changed, its great if your 13 and get your rocks off because of the swearing and violence and stealing cars but after so many GTA releases its now stale and extremly boring, go play Dead Space instead and shit the life out of yourselves instead its more fun.

or not, as red's point from his first response was that you CAN lie in bed and game on a pc, which max claimed that one couldn't do in his first post, bolded, a claim he then repeated in his next post, bolded. Also, this is a dumb argument.

Agreed, let's get back on topic.

I hope the PC version won't have that bug/glitch where you see a lot more of the same vehicle that you're driving throughout the city. Or at least I hope it can be fixed with mods seeing as this is a port.

The combat system needs to be retooled and the animations are not as smooth as a FPS would be, though it is a racing...i mean action game after all.

8 months later, I'm ready to pick it up! What's the official date? Dec. 2nd?

Me too. I've only played GTA3 on a console. And only for a few hours. Played through the rest of them on the PC multiple times.

Auto-aim? No thanks, I'm not a little girl...

Looking forward to it very much!
