I'd expect them to pull out all the stops getting guests to make people think the show is still relevant, or atleast as relevant as it was when he left (#1 show in time slot.)

A lot of people are hating on Leno over what happened with Conan, and getting ratings asap I'd think would be very important to gain momentum back. I'd think it would be a statement to future guests as well to show its just as relevant and that Nbc has a 'better than ever' approach to this Leno term. Perhaps that's too complex for Nbc to think of.

I'm not particularly impressed, but it certainly doesn't seem like a bad lineup.

I thought NBC would try for an even bigger star studded lineup to try to gain momentum and put the whole lightnight deal behind it. It's not as good as I anticipated they'd have, but it's not a bad lineup.

Jay will get all the stars doing their promotional tours. Everyone may hate the asshat, but promoting on late night is important.

But, it is relevant that you don't see any friendly big stars on the first day/week. Conan's first tonight show had Will Ferell, who is a buddy of Conan's, and Freaking PEARL JAM as the band. I don't think either of those two were promoting anything, they were just doing the show because Conan is a friend. A bunch of friends of his came on during the rest of the week, too.

It looks like Jay just has standard guests. This is not surprising, because he's a raving asshole with 10 million cars, but no friends. The tonight show will get it's star guests, though. Hell, even Jimmy Kimmel gets big stars.

I stand by the first point, and aside from Kim K there aren't any hot chics. That's not an argument, just an observation. Kim K was admittedly an oversight even with the thunder thighs, but the main point is Leno doesn't have any top notch guests. Back to Kim K, she's someone to have on when there isn't anyone else available. Seriously, she's a brunette version of paris hilton.

Recognition is hardly the benchmark...would you tune in to watch any one of those? Maybe a couple at best, lol. Freeman is the biggest star...and other than the gold medal winners, there are no A-listers.

Ummm Jamie Fox isn't an A-lister? He won a fucking Academy Award, that means he's up there with the best of the best. And while I don't care much for teenage actors, Dakota Fanning always gets rave reviews for her performances. She's by far the most A list worthy teen actor there is. I would say the one you mention + the 2 I mentioned is a damn good start. I dunno who you expected him to have on but the line is up is solid. Dana Carvey will deliver his usual awesome comedy, Kim K will look hot as fuck. The show's going back to how it was before he left. I wouldn't expect a huge line up the first week. And given how so many ATOTers were swearing up and down that every actor in hollywood will boycot and not be on his show. I'm impressed.
