Just finished playing Madden 06 and it's nice to say the least. While I do miss ESPN Football, I think I can tolerate Madden, for now.

yea they do, but I along with some of the other fans are stuck with either not playing football or buying into EA sports. I did the latter.

Hey, don't give us too much info, seeing as to how you surprisingly have gotten it early. We don't want ANY info at all on what is better than last year, we want to see for ourselves.

I prefer to change that statement a little and say that EA sucks making games for the PC, they are utterly disgraceful in PC programming if you ask me.

Sure it does, because they now own these companies, and they produce good games. Therefore, EA is making good games. It's called capitalism.

No, they don't own these companies. They bought an exclusive right to make NFL games from the NFL, meaning Sega was no longer allowed to make NFL 2k series, Midway couldn't make Blitz (though they're spinning that franchise off in a different way), etc...

They weren't making themselves better, they were eliminating the competition by reducing consumer choice. That doesn't deserve praise in my book

EA didn't buy out their competitors, they instead purchased exclusive rights to the NFL, NCAA, NASCAR, and AFL. This is a dagger in the heart to EA's competitors (in those same sports), because they can no longer use those franchises for several years, if ever again.

I'm not sure of the specifics, but you can't really blame EA on this one. From what I know, the NFL was shopping their license for exclusivity. Did you expect EA to sit back and let Sega have it so as not to piss off all of the ESPN2K fans?

You guys really need to think about the business side of this. Plus, had Sega got the exclusive license, the shoe would just be on the other foot. Be mad at the NFL for making a exclusive deal, not EA.

I hear this years Madden is a step backwards. There is a major bug that if you hit up when you pass (to lead the reciever) he almost ALWAYS catches up to it and catches the ball.

I think I'll pass, wait, save my money for Xbox 360.

Thank you for not leaving out the AFL. That makes this Arena Football fan's morning that much better... man, I can't wait for that game.

This year's Madden is a step ahead, but so much harder. If you have a crappy OLine and aren't playing with Peyton Manning, you're screwed. Changing your Vision Cone from receiver to receiver and then trying to get it off. NakaNaka, that is definately not true. Precision Passing is great, but doesn't always work. I like the NFL Superstar feature this year, but it's just not enough. As it is, I imported myself from NCAA 06, and was a second-round draft choice with a 94 overall, drafted coincidentally by my Rams. I led the Rams to a division title, traded Bulger for a nice safety, which helped me concentrate on my Oline and other aspects of my Defensive backfield. But I want ESPN back... I miss being able to play ESPN on the console (XBOX), where it's a far superior game, and then Madden on the PC.
