I don't give a crap how much you don't believe it. You can deny it all you want, but it is clear and obvious to everyone around you. You are freaking sick, its not just your allergies, and you are spreading contagion around the office. Let me be the first to praise you for your lack of consideration of others. Your blatant assholery now has me paranoid that I'm going to get sick, and it is the day before my vacation starts. I would shake your hand or pat you on the back to congratulate you on being the biggest idiot I've ever seen, but what I'm going to do instead is come into the office and make personal visits on the hour every hour the next time I have any spreadable disease. Yes, that's right: I'm gunning for you with every germ in my body the next time I would rather stay home puking in the toilet.

IF YOU ARE SICK... DO NOT come into the office and infect everyone else.
I hate that more than anything and that is what happens at our office. Someone is sick (usually the boss) and she still comes in and then everyone else gets sick afterwards

On topic, I agree completely. The best ones are when people bring their contagious kids to work because they can't stay in daycare... because they're too contagious.

My wife has a similar problem. She teaches piano, and parent bring in their kids, even if they kept them out of school that day.

Many illnesses are spreadable a full 24-48 hours before any significant symptoms appear. So they likely have already spread it around before they even know they are sick.

With most flu/cold stuff you're a carrier a day or so before you express symptoms.

Allergies my ASS. I've got a ragweed allergy and I damn well know the difference between my allergies acting up (waking up with a stuffy nose for no reason, unstoppable watery eyes) and an outright cold or viral infection.

Well, I've battled spring allergies every year for the last 10 years. And despite working in a close environment, my "allergies" have never once gotten anyone else sick. Why? Because they're seasonal allergies that aren't contagious. I get sinus pressure, watery eyes and some sniffles, along with a scratchy throat. Once I have Zyrtec in me for a week, those symptoms start to go away.

I'd worry far more about all the skanky germs people bring in from what their children have been exposed to while at school as opposed to someone with a grass or pollen allergy. Just because your coworker isn't sick doesn't mean they don't have germs all over them.

A complete guess on my part, but people might be more likely to spread illness during the coughing/hacking-into-their-hand-and-then-touching-everything-in-the-office phase.
