The place may have been getting a reputation for being a "cow barn" and decided to do something about it. Say you're on a night out, and you go into a bar / club and see mostly fat chicks and guys...this usually means an instant U-turn straight out of that place to a better spot.

Maybe a bit harsh, but I'm betting this will probably help their business. It is surprising that they actually had the balls to come right out and say it.

1: Fat chicks boycott
2: Word gets out re: FCB
3: More people show up because it's more likely that the crowd overall will be more attractive, which translates into more people at any given time that you might want to meet / hook up with...plus, greatly decreased potential for "beer goggle incidents" - so, a "safety net" of sorts
4: Spot becomes more desirable / exclusive / "hot", since overall crowd attractiveness +++
5: Long lines of people waiting to get in + no fat chicks
6: ...
7: Profit

Personally I think it was mean what the bouncer and club manager did. If they didn't want fat people to show up at their club, they didn't have to tell them to their faces, all they had to do was make a smaller titanium reinforced door/entrance so that only skinny people can squeeze through.
