No droid turbo thread on first page? :P

Surely this can't be on the night before it's official.

Anyone else annoyed that it's not unlocked bootloader, and that the N6 is
freakin huge? :| I'm hoping there will be a difference in on contract price with vzw to help me decide. Tuff choice otherwise unless reviews turn up something unexpected.

Anything else in the pipe the next month that VZW will carry worth condiering other than the Note 4? I'm upgrading a GS4.

The Turbo is the first phone that has tempted me away from my Moto X. It really is no compromises. Bleeding edge specs, manageable screen size and a massive battery. I really don't see anything not to like.

Same here, other than that damn locked bootloader. It's been my experience that it's cool for the first year or so, still fresh, still getting updates, after that, the latter half of the contract when all the really cool new phones are out I start to really itch to play with different software. Tuff call as I really don't want a freakin 6" phone..

Isn't that every Verizon phone pretty much? Something tells me if a subsidized Nexus 6 hits Verizon or At&t it will have a locked bootloader.

Pretty much. I'm not buying till I see some evidence that it's not the case.
Be a real shame if it is, but if the N6 is locked I'd rather just buy the droid turbo I guess. Here's hoping..

I bet in either case there will be a "developer edition" that is unlocked but full price. Verizon and At&t are pissy about subsidized phones.

I'll be checking it out later this week. Looking to get more battery life than my MotoX can provide. If I'm in a decent reception area the X is fine and will easily last me all day. But most of the time I'm in a place that barely pulls a signal and the battery just gets torched. Won't have as much battery anxiety with this.

I'm tempted to go from my Note 2 to this. The locked bootloader is my only real hangup. I would honestly just stick with my existing phone but it has been picky about charging ever since it took a trip to the bottom of the lake this summer.

I want no more than 1080p but yeah that's a nice phone.

bezel is too thick though

It's really more phone than I need or want, the turbo or N6. I really wish the Moto X 2014 had more battery and/or Qi charging and was spillproof. I'd buy one. It's impressive how manufacturers of pretty much anything can manage to juuuust miss the mark and make one go for the next or more expensive model. I can never tell how often it's blind luck or careful planning and marketing.

It's a nice phone, but it's Verizon exclusive, Verizon mucked up the design (looks a bit retro with it's bezels), and the Droid branding is confusing and easy to forget.

Well Verizon phones work on tmo/att now? I thought they were all shipping unlocked and include gsm radios

I think that is true for iPhones. Don't think that'll be the case with most Android phones, and seemingly even more unlike for a "Droid" branded phone.

Yeah, this Droid *will* work on GSM carriers now. Full LTE or not remains to be seen. But if you don't care about LTE, then absolutely.

I'm intrigued by the nylon back...but scared at the same time. Seems like it would be a magnet for dirt and other junk to settle into the weave pattern. Also seems like it would get a bit buffed/roughed up after a year or more of being slid on a desk or in and out of a pocket.
