I went to my local dealership and the guy just said they don't have any and has no idea when they are getting some in stock again. I said Ok, and left.

I went back home frustrated and called up like 4 other dealerships in the area and they all said the same thing, we are getting some next week, or the week after. Some even said they would have to special order me a Yaris and it could take up to 3 months. LOL

Anyway, I finally called a dealership even closer to me than I realized before and they said they could hunt one down for me. I showed up, test drove the ugly hatchback Yaris and then picked out the Power Package option and they so happened to have a blue one on the way.

I put my $500 down and they said they will call me between 9/18 and 9/25. I CAN'T WAIT, its my first NEW car.

i don't get why you didn't just settle for the dealerships that were going to get them next week in the first place. please explain.

Sorry, I must clarify. They all said sometime in the next week or so and could never give me a definite answer. This dealership told me they could hunt one down and actually give me a close time frame. The other dealerships did NOT want to get into specifics with me.

I wouldn't care if gas prices dropped even more. It drops my annual gas costs even more.

Nice! They have a 6 week waiting list on those around here. Pretty cool cars. They're girly looking, but they rock on gas, and the inside is pretty neat (the MP3 port is a great touch!).

I've been looking at the Scion Xa myself (basically the same car, just a bit cheaper). Need a good go to work car that eats less than my Envoy XL.

People are commuting from Chicago TO Naperville now? Man, that city really has changed.

/me still covets his dad's old parking spot at the 5th Ave station.

The Yaris sedan can be had for that price?

I thought you couldn't get them OTD for under $12k...

They are selling for MSRP because of the demand for them so there really is no negotiating at the moment. I don't mind since I can expect 40mpg to and from work.

I am getting the SEDAN, which looks nothing like the hatchback for obvious reasons and I would hardly call girly. The hatch yes, the sedan no. It looks like a slightly smaller Corolla.

No, I am commuting from the southwest suburbs to Naperville.

How much did you pay?

Yaris's are marked down by $662 from sticker price where I am.

EDIT: WTF..you're in Chicago? Go to Janesville, WI to a dealer called Hesser Olds Toyota.

15,100 with the Power Package which has all the upgrades. You guys reall don't get it, do you? The base on a Yaris is 13,300 plus destination and thats just a little hatch with no power options at all. I have no idea where you guys assume its 10k OTD. A little research online would of showed you that full upgraded the Yaris sedan jumps from 13,300 to 15,100 or so approximately.
