Especially the Altima's interior. Even a 1988 Honda Civic hatchback can beat the Altima on interior quality, I may have exaggerated slightly.

Besides, why the hell should you guys care? Nissan has the performance/enconomy ratio that is right for me. If you want slow cars that get a million miles to the gallon, buy something else.

According to THIS article, Toyota is ranked #1 and Honda is ranked #2 in quality cars. Nissan is a bad name for the Japanese. I recall one time I emailed Nissan asking why the Skyline was not ported over to the US. They said that it would simply cost too much money for Nissan to invest in just to meet federal safety standards in terms of a car and they would result in LOSING money that making money. That's why they won't bring it over. If you want a quality car, get a Toyota. Of course, we all know in Japan Nissan cars are the sh!tznit. The only thing Honda has is the NSX and their up and coming tight ass Honda S2000 Type R with 360HP. Oh yeah..that's with NO turbo by the way.

Actually the Geo/Chevy Prizm is a great car.

Wanna know why?

Because it's essentially a rebadged Toyota.

honda makes fine engines as well (S2000, Acura TL Type S, NSX, 2003 accord)

I am not saying nissan is bad or anything I have nothing against them

I like the altima, maxima, and infiniti series, 350Z and G35 are especially sweet

but I just hate the fact how some people make them out to be god's gift to carmakers

we all know BMW and Audi make the finest cars on the road :D

Right. But fo rthe record, I HATE my friends A4. It has no leg room, no head room, and My 10 year old maxima will KILL it in th equarter. With the eibach springs I put on it, My Max handles just as good. [/rant]

maybe it's just me but I don't like toyotas.

test drove the following compact cars:
civic LX
corolla LE
forus SE
sentra GXE
golf GL

I'm very disappointed on the corolla when it comes to the performance (for a 130hp engine) compared to a 115hp civic. it's no match against a civic LX(with a lower HP).

I wasn't impressed by an avalon either, my friend's mom drives one and it's not any quieter than our 1996 honda accord EX v6. the avalon was 2000 or 2001 i believe.

IMO toyota cars are ugly and overrated. don't buy them.

It's a high-performance vehicle.
Your point is moot.
GM was worried about the cost of converting Holden vehicles to meet fed. guidelines.
I know VERY very few Nissan owners who are not pleased with their car.

I'm sure it has the quality and reliability some people are looking for. The Benz will last you 6 or so years while still looking relatively modern. I'm sure 6 years for a car is all you need because it appears your parents are loaded or are very generous auto-wise. Stuff you can do to the Benz:

Purchase latest tail lights from the dealer so it looks like a 2002.
Acquire some nice fake Brabus or AMG wheels/rims.

Come on, you know you want it. Just go for it!

Word.
