Listen,
Nintendo is coming out with a revolutionary gaming system. This may even incorporate 3D Projection technology? The potential of that being great is very high, and I will definitely stay loyal to Nintendo. They are saying that the Box itself could be a wireless router that will be able to hook up to all the controllers, as well as any Nintendo DS devices. (speculation of course). If it does come true, that would be a great accomplishment. Of course the Revolution they are referring to is not the ability to connect to the internet; that would just be retarded on their part.
I agree with Nintendo in their decision to revolutionize the way of console gaming. The only thing that has been the focus in lately has been better graphics. Any true gamer will choose a computer (which everyone has) if they are interested in pure eye candy. I will take my puny little 9700 pro over any console system for graphics. The console games will never catch up to computers. Now, as far as having fun while playing games I think Nintendo is in the right track. I want something that will change the way games are played, and I trust Nintendo to deliver that.
As far as Nintendo's older consoles. NES, and SNES were the champs of course, but Nintendo hurt themselves with the 64. No one wanted to develop games for catridges anymore. They were not only very hard to write, but they had to be a small file size, and couldn't have videos like final fantasy 7 was so popular for. This hurt them even more because Nintendo ended up being basically the only company that would develop games for the N64. This gave the Nintendo consoles the stereotype of being for kids only. Nintendo the game developer is focused towards children but play a game like Eternal Darkness and tell me if that is geared for youngsters.
The gamecube is an extremely well designed console that I choose over either xbox or the ps2 any day. The graphics of the gamecube is better than the PS2 not only for better hardware, but yes for having a better engine. Not to mention that the ps2 breaks all the time, and takes a lot longer to load....as well as costed 100 bucks more when it came out. I don't need a DVD player in my gaming console, I have my 5 disc one for that. I'll be happy to save 100 bones.
I am very anxious to see what Nintendo can come up with, and will purchase it regardless of the reviews. Even if you don't like the controllers of the gamecube, you can buy a little adapter that lets you hook up ps2 or xbox paddles. I am sure that the Revolution will offer the same thing. Either way, if you own a gamecube you know that the games it offers are just better done than any other system. Games made by nintendo are made to be fun, not to satisfy the people who only play madden, and FPS's. Those games are all the same. Play smash brothers and tell me it is like any other popular fighting game.
Nintendo has yet to let me down, and I trust them to satisfy my gaming fix. Go Ninty!
