I'm more surprised it didn't die a while ago... Sibling used to subscribe as a kid.

Thought for sure this would be a necro, honestly figured they had been gone for years. I remember enjoying it, especially the demos, but not surprised they are going.

Wow, I didn't even realize it was still in print. That and EGM were my primary sources for gaming information prior to the internet.

I still have a stack of nintendo power magazines from the early 90's.

I remember getting a subscription after the 4th issue. I used my allowance to back order the first 4 issues.

Wow I didn't know it was still around. I remember that first issue with Mario coming in the mail. It was a damn happy day when a new issue showed up.

Same here, I spent countless hours reading and rereading that magazine. Fond memories of those better days...

That stinks. That's one thing I've thought of a lot recently (and with the wishbook thread). To me, there is no substitute for some paper/physical magazines and books. I used to love reading nintendo power, gamepro, the wishbook/jc penny catalogs. My kid will never get to experience a lot of that stuff. He won't care because he won't know what he is missing, but stil...

It's funny how nostalgic we get over things we never use. Nintendo Power, Twinkies, etc. There's a big uproar when it leaves, but then it turns out nobody was using the products...

nintendo power was awesome. because it was the only place to get hints on how to beat the ridiculously hard nintendo games. ridiculously hard.

To be fair NP only covered Nintendo products and was always written for a younger audience, most people here would have grown out of it.

I had a sub as a kid for a number of years, sad to see it go but digital killed the paper star.
