I've gotten the roms off newsgroups, but they don't play as good on a PC. Some of the controls are different. The same thing goes for playing Mame games on a PC, versus standing in front of a cabinet, there is a differance. Just buy the cartridges from Ebay/EB Games and play on an N64.

N64 is ALWAYS worth it. Best console I have ever owned IMHO. Just make sure you get Zelda 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Goldeneye, Jet Force Gemeni, Diddy Kong Racing, and Killer Instinct Gold. If you get at least a few of those games, you'll be set for some fun! :)

i wouldnt pay more than 450 for a high end gaming machine like that. I just bought one the other day for 150, and it came with 2 free games. Shop around, you may get lucky like me. Nothing was more satisfying then seeing Super Mario jumping around on my 4,000 dollar 13" HDTV DLP projection telivision. I got lucky on that one too, he only had 1 more left in his trunk.

I liked Excite Bike 64 too... had lots of fun with that, and with the original that comes on it =) Goldeneye is a must... lets see... what else did I like... Wave Race was fun... WWF War Zone was fun too... in my teenage years I got a kick out of creating a "hot" female wrestler and dressing her in as little clothing as possible :D NHL 99 was good... so was NFL Quarterback Club 99... NASCAR 99 wasn't too bad either, but it got boring pretty quick... probably cause that was after my brother moved away and most of my friends at that time were chicks and they didn't want to race me, lol.

Bung's Dr. V64jr 512
Bung's US distributor blatanly re-named it E64 for no damn reason (They literally peeled the labels off and threw out the pacakaging).

It's a ROM simulator. Game backups or homebrew games (ie, ROM files/dumps) are loaded onto the unit from the PC via parallel port. The device has 64MB (512Mbit) onboard EDO RAM and a logic controller that simulates the addressing and timing of an N64 cartridge's MaskROM.

For a developer, it lets you play your game on a real N64. For most others, it lets you play copied games without the original cartridge. I also have a couple CD-ROM-based Dr. V64 units :)

It has 100% perfect compatability with every N64 cartridge title with very little additional hardware (You had to plug a real game into the back to play. An appropriate title must be selected for the back for certain games unless you use a modified/patched ROM file).
