If you watch it again, you'll notice the QB makes a cut to the inside towards the ref right before contact. If you watch the play from a higher angle, you'll see the same thing, and understand why the ref checked him.

I see the ref cut him off, square up, and deliver a hit on the QB, just like what the defense would do. I think you're seeing what you want to see.

i have seen it from top and bottom. in all of them it looks as if the ref didnt try to get out of the way and was out ot knock him down.
but of course they are goign tos ey the ref was trying to avoid it. they don't want it in the papers that a ref is biased.
though i doubt we see the guy to much.

Let's apply Occam's razor here.
Scenario 1: Approximately 60 year old football umpire is biased and wants to influence the outcome of a game. He has the power to do so by discreetly making bad calls or missing calls. Instead he chooses to influence the game by tackling the quarterback.
Scenario 2: Approximately 60 year old football umpire misreads the intentions of the QB; every move he makes to get out of the way puts him more in the way, eventually causing a collision.

I for one agree with Mugs. It still doesn't look pretty though haha. Although...
South Carolina gets screwed repeatedly by the lsu refs

does that change the fact it LOOKS to me like he did it intentionally? no it does not. I did not say it is fact that he did it just i looks as if he did. I never said i was right or wrong just what it looks like.

The game was at South Carolina, I fail to see your point in reference to this thread with that statement.

The point was that lsu has SEC refs in their back pocket. The refs are going to want their top SEC teams to win and not get upset...so wanting South Carolina to lose is the summation of my powerpoint. Do you see the connection? Ref takes out SC qb to stop a touchdown & in the video I posted refs don't call a ton of penalties in LSU's favor. I don't actually believe this, I'm just being a horses ass and I think both videos are funny. I'm sure there were plenty of things the refs didn't call on the gamecocks as well.
