WTF are you talking about? They're straight singing. Richard Loney has been singing the anthems for... decades. Straight, to the point, perfect. Would you rather someone shove a broomstick up his ass and push and pull it at the end of each line so he draws it out to a 10 minute wailing session like a lot of the diva singers in the US do?

Jim Cornielson in Chicago does a great job too. No messing around there.

The US anthem sucked. PERIOD. A second singer did the second song. It was better but I have heard way better singers. The guy is talented but not someone to be signing in front of millions. The crowd signing also irks me (even though I am not Canadian). Is that some sort of tradition. I guess it is just how I was raised. It seems the proper respect for any flag is to have one singer sing while everyone salutes. I am the most informal person you will run across but I draw the line at symbols that people have died for.

Sadly, Lady Gaga could have probably done better.

Especially regarding the Crowd singing.

I don't know how you can say the US anthem sucked. What do you like in an anthem singing? I like straight time, as it was written. That's exactly how Loney sang it.

The second guy is an opera singer / high school music teacher. He tried the crowd singing thing once many years ago in the playoffs and it went over very well. They've had him back all of the playoffs since. It's a tradition here now.

Here, everyone sings the anthem. That's how it is done.

Don't ever go the United Center for a Hawks game or watch it on TV. It will just piss you off.

How's this?

/agree - felt like he rushed [butchered] the anthem [he's sang it before too]. I wouldn't want Gaga to sing it as she'd remix it, resample music from other artists, and call it her own mutation.

Get someone in their who knows how to properly sing the Anthem for once.

On that note - the game is literally being replayed numerous times on the NHL network today 🙂

1. You can't tell for sure he bit his finger.
2. If you don't want your finger bit, don't shove it in someone else's mouth.

It's not like Burrows grabbed the other guy's hand, put it in his own mouth and bit down or anything...

Oh your right. Simply moving your head and mouth to his hand and finger which was shoving you and biting down ISN'T biting now according to you and the NHL. Makes perfect sense.

I can't blame Burrows for trying to prevent Bergeron from pushing his head, or trying to get a punch in. You stick your hand into another players face like that, expect some sort of retaliation. I mean he still had his glove on too.

He still shouldn't have done it, but this isn't a Tyson/Holyfield incident. There wasn't any blood, and he shoved his hand into Burrows' face...

Unfortunately it's the proper ruling by the league because you can't actually see the biting, but only an idiot would try to justify the biting (e.g. silverpig, KK).

Uh re-read my quote. "He shouldn't have done it" was what I clearly said.

I also said you can't clearly see the bite.

Only an idiot would miss that 😉

The dude had a glove on, was he going to sink his fangs thru the glove and break skin? quit making a bigger deal out of it than it is. Sure if no glove was on it then it would be a whole different situation. What could have hurt worse, punch to the head, or someone biting a gloved hand. Only an idiot (eg. mugs) wouldn't be able to figure that one out.

Should he have done it, no, but I can't blame him.

I read all of what you wrote:

I will quote Chris Rock:

"He's paying $25,000 a month in alimony, got a another man driving around in his car and fucking his wife in a house he's still paying the mortgage on. Now I'm not saying he should have killed her... but I understand."
