Was in Chi-town for long weekend and saw game 7 at sister's home. Great game, but wrong team won. 🙂

I was going to root for the Bruins because they haven't won since 1972. However, my brother-in-law (a Canadian) tells me that the Canucks have never won. Is that true?

The Canucks joined the league in 1970 and have been to the finals twice (three times now) but have not won the Cup. The Vancouver Millionaires did win the cup way back in like 1922 or something though.

Atlanta has lost both of its hockey teams, Flames in 80 and now the Thrashers. According to a report in the Globe, the top topic on sports radio in ATL is college football. 🙂

I suppose I shouldn't joke about it since Tampa's attendance at Rays game (no idea about the Lightning) is abysmal.

Thanks. Now I'm torn. 😛 I guess I'll still support Boston since it's the safer idea around these parts. 😀

Yup, that's why I sort of want to see Boston win. Look at it this way Canuck fans, think about how you will cry like Boston Red Sox fans after it took them 86 years! Just prolong the pain a bit. 😉

yeah you guys are like the Chicago Cubs of the NHL. If Vancouver loses, they will be the Philadelpia Eagles of the NHL.

Big difference is Chicago Cubs puts in an honest effort. Maple Leaf management and NHL is only interested in the cash cow. That is the main reason why there is no Waterloo expansion.

You can curse the name of Harold Ballard for that one. 😛

I love the fact that a lot of work places are allowing everyone to leave at 4:00 to go and watch the game. 😀

I almost bought tickets for tonight since they released some a couple hours ago, but I decided to just watch at home instead. Maybe Saturday if they release more.

Yeah my buddy snapped up a pair at $400/ticket! 😱

I'll just buy some fancy beers and snacks instead and watch at home. 😎

Can't wait for it to start!

Last I checked Ballard is long gone.

Ballard started it......... they had a great players in the 70's. If they didn't trade the better players (Sittlier, MacDonald etc) they may have had a cup (although my 70's Habs would have something to say about that)

Cheers,
Aquaman

MLSE makes money regardless of how the team does. Can't really blame them for not caring. That is why I wanted the Waterloo team, they would start caring again when there is competition at the doorsteps.

Shut that singer up! Horrible rendition of the US anthem. Oh Canada .... coming up

EDIT: Canadian anthem slightly better but both are no first game of The Stanley Cup type of quality.
