Speaking of Worlds, Stepan just tied it on the PP vs Canada, 3-3. Canada can thank Clutterbuck for slashing.

edit: Rick Nash wins it for Canada in the shootout.

Howard has been "solid" these playoffs, with brief moments of awesome. The only problem is every other goalie in the playoffs has been stellar.

Mickey Redmond said after the last game "Howard played well, Niemi just played one save better."

EDIT: and as for the future, if he improves as much from year 2 to 3 as he did from 1 to 2, you can safely put him in that class of stellar playoff goalies.
 
I'm torn....on one hand I'd LOVE to see the Sharks sweep the Red Wings, but on the other hand I won't be able to see the game tonight so I would like them to lose so I can see them on Sunday.
 
I'm ok with letting Howard be our goalie next year. Any word on if Ozzy is going to retire after this year? If so it gives MacDonald more ice time. He's been a solid backup all year long. Time to give him the full time job.

I'll be glad to see Modano go. Just a wasted spot in the lineup that could have gone to a hungry Griffon.

Team needs to start generating energy on it's 2nd and 3rd lines. Drapes isn't getting any younger. Time for the others to step their games up.

The funny thing I think about that is Draper still brings it every game he plays. With him out the 4th line wasn't the same in games 1 and 2 compared to when he is playing on that line with Helm. I'm wouldn't mind bringing him back one more year if it wasn't for Mursak waiting in the minors.
 
Who the he'll scored that goal? It wasn't Bertuzzi. Whoever it was is wearing his jersey.

Jeeesus, Wings decided they are going to score on Niemi if they have to shove it down his throat.

That was one the most intense 2 minutes of offense Ive ever seen.
 
If we lose Sunday (which I expect) Holland needs to make changes.

EDIT: Well we really need to make changes anyway.

The Wings are known for scoring like that...

I'm kind of bummed as I wanted to see a sweep... but at least we'll have more hockey on Sunday.

Here's hoping Boston wins tonight and kicks Philly to the curb... 🙂

sour grapes, hmm. anti-capitals, hell yeah. but sour grapes, nah, if I was pissed about them losing, then i wouldn't be rooting for the team that beat them. that makes no sense, you need to get over it, there will be people that dislike other teams. I'm also please to see philly drop out so quickly. should be a good series between boston and tb.
 
Lol the Preds are so obviously out of their league. I would love to see this get back to Nashville for game 6 just so we can get some extra revenue but doubt that's going to happen. 😛
