Well, that second period of the Sharks/Kings game was probably one of the most exciting 20 minutes of hockey I've ever seen.

Ok, I go to bed and it's 4-0 Kings. Wake to hear they lost? Holy hell. They are dubbing it the "Meltdown Near Manchester" this morning on Home Ice. King fans are calling in saying "it's over, I don't even care about them anymore". Really? It was only one game, a really bad chokejob but they still have time to atone for it. Having a short memory is key (esp Niemi and Quick).

CHI/VAN game, I didn't get a chance to see it but heard it was anal destruction of the Canucks. Luongo getting pulled could be a bad omen for their later rounds. Bolland coming back and scoring 4 points, who would have predicted that.

All in all, the goaltending has been lackluster in every series except WASH/NY (almost all the goals in that one were unstoppable shots). Even Tim Thomas and Pekka had a bad game already.

Looking forward to the start of the Preds game. Can't wait to see what our marketing department came up with to make fun of the Ducks GM/Coach referring to the Preds 'diving'. What a bunch of cry babies. Haven't the Preds been put in the box more than the Ducks this series?

Ducks got put in the box more than Preds for some of the most BS calls. All due to the Pred's superior acting skills. Erat took so many dives I momentarily thought I was watching a soccer game with Ronaldo. I watched the replay on that hit he took and it was a clean front shoulder to shoulder hit on him. A penalty shouldn't have been called on that play, yet it was. Me think he hurts himself from over dramatically spinning off balance and onto the ice.

Well, I bitched last year because they didn't give the Wings the customary 2 days rest between series, but I've also said the Wings look terrible when they get more than 2 days of rest. Seems there's no pleasing me. 🙂

Go Wings!

12 goal scorers in 4 games, and Zetterburg hasn't even played yet. Now that's depth.

Hopefully they can come back from a long rest still firing on all cylinders.

edit: Oops I meant 13 😉

After the last two years with only one day of rest between series that we went on to lose in I am happy for the rest. It gives Zetterberg, Mule, and other that are banged up some recovery time. Wings need to work on their PK because it hasn't been good and it just gets harder to win going forward.

You know that's really strange too. This season has been nothing but inconsistent for the Wings, but if there was one thing the Wings did well consistently throughout the entire season and especially in the last month was penalty kill.

Holy shite, Capitals with a comeback for the ages. "Meltdown at MSG" for the Rangers. 2 amazing comebacks in 2 days, wow.

Flyers needed that one, now it will probably go 7 games. Not good.

Detroit is looking good for once.

Pitt will win that series as I called it.

If thoughts could kill the ref would have been dead after the 2nd yotes goal. Get the fuck out of the way man.

Watched some of the pit-tb overtime. I could see the players were tired. But for crying out loud TB, learn how to pass and keep possesion of the puck. And that 1-3-1 shit with no forecheck they had going was worthless. You can't win games if all you are doing is trying to get the puck out of your zone.

Solid performance last night by the Wings. Good play on all sides of the team. Just some bad bounces that went the Coyote's way.

The game of the night though was up in Buffalo. Ryan Miller = Stud. The flurry of pucks that were getting to Ryan and the chippiness during the entire game means this series is going to be epic. If you're son/daughter wants to learn how to play goal in hockey, you just have them study last nights game tape. Miller can steal this series if he continues to play like he did last night. I loved his presser after the game, "No, I don't answer to my critics. I don't answer to reporters who never spent time playing goal in the NHL. I really don't give an expletive what they think."

Yeah was funny, I was walking home from a concert and heard massive amounts of screaming/cheering in DC coming from people's houses... knew the Caps had just won.
