no draft till a new agreement... you'll hear about the lockout cessation before draft or Crosby talk.

Both sides are meeting all week to hammer out the final details of a deal. The players took one on the chin - I heard the agreed cap was about $35 mil per team. IIRC they were offered as much as $45m at one point.

I just want to watch something. :(

The Habs? God, why don't you just root for the Senators while you're at it?

The overpaid old guys sitting in senate probably do more in a day than the team does...

Like the song says, "When it comes to crunch time, the senators always choke!"

Plus, the leafs have Eddie Belfour...One of the best goalies ever to take to the ice.

who cares if that was their intent? what did they think was going to happen if they didn't reach an agreement. now that i think about it, they probably don't give a sh!t about the fans because if they did, there wouldn't be a lockout...

If you think the majority of NHL players don't care about the fans then you don't know the majority of NHL players...

Call me biased because of my love of the sport but they don't fit the stereotypical athlete mould. They're generally nice guys that love their fans...

I look back on it now and think... it had to be done. But for pete's sake let's get on with the game this fall!!

guess I am speaking about the organization as whole, not the players individually...

it just sucks seeing how much is at stake and to be that close to an agreement and then just piss it away...

How do you throw away an ENTIRE season? what kind of BS is that? i would like to see how much revenue they generate from their next TV contract because of this...

I think NHL players are generally the best of the four major sports. People say they were being greedy, but I think they were misguided under terrible leadership.

David Stern called Goodenow's actions in the past year the greatest miscalculation in the history of professional sports.

what is going on w/ the NHL anyway? I haven't heard from them since like febuary. Are they still talking? Haven't heard any news about the league on espn.

maybe the players should get together and form a new league.

The only one giving him competition is Theo Fleury. BTW, I have a few pics that a friend of mine sent me after they met Belfour getting blitzed in a bar. He went back to their apartment for a couple more and they took pics. I have pics of a drunk ed Belfour arm-wrestling one of them it's pretty funny actually.
