NFS: MW: Most intense game of the year

I'm now on number 10 of the Blacklist and driving with the Porsche Cayman. The game "feels" so fast, it's unbelieveable. From a "feeling of speed" point of view, this game is the best since a long time, when not THE best ever. When the cops chase you and the sound changes.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome

I thought the thread title meant NFS:MW was the most hardware intensive game of the year. It's actually one of the newer games that actually runs well on my XP 2600+ and 9800P.

I played it regularly for about a week every night after the kids were in bed. All of the sudden the repetiton of the game just became unbearable

That is the only game that I can recall that actually gives me motionsickness. It's unbelievable, but I can't play it for any length becuase of that.

Im up to Blacklist #4. Getting bored now.

Heat level 4 stingers are difficult to avoid since you often get very little warning of a roadblock.

Traffic in races is just insane. I keep on hitting those Dump Trucks and losing a good 10 seconds trying to get around it.

I love heat 5 though. Those corvettes are fun to play around with, unlike Rhino's but they still have stingers.

The sense of speed isnt great. Its 'good' for about 5 minutes and then you wish you had a 15 mile stretch of road so that you could hit top speed in your car. Ive only hit 234mph max

Worth playing.

Keep an eye on your mini map and use your speedbreaker and roadblocks are easy to avoid.

I've played it for quite a bit and my biggest complaint about it, is that it's just NFSU3 with cops. At no point did EA put any real development thought into this game. The blacklist "actors" are garbage and dear god, why is there bullet time in a racing game? Don't get me wrong, it's pretty fun... I just hate the fact that it's just a recycled game like all their other games.

I've made it to #5 on the blacklist with my Cayman. Good little car, it can take you pretty far in the game.

Just bought a 911 turbo S, still trying to determine which is better. They seem pretty close.

Minimap updates too slow, shows roadblocks too late at times and speedbreaker doesnt help when your in the air

Most of my pops are due to 1) flying over the crest of a hill into a stinger that wasnt on the minimap when I took off or 2) taking a corner into a stinger that wasnt there a second ago.

Modeps: I saw Bullet Time as a nice feature. Too often in high speed games, you wish you had an extra couple of seconds to assess a situation and specifically in this game, Bullet Time allows you to evade the police a little easier. Its actually the first time Ive ever played a game with Bullet Time in. I think it fitted well and if its unrealistic or you dont like it... just dont use it.

1) what exactly is a stinger in this game ? Are you talking about missiles ? I'm on blacklist 5 or 6... I haven't seen it yet maybe ?
2) I'm running the Gallardo.. are the Porsches better than it ? In the long run ?

Stingers are the English name for 'Spike strips'. I use Stingers because Spike Strips sounds... well, crap and because Im English.

I loved my Carrera S, then I loved my Gallardo until I got my Corvette, which I loved until I got my Dodge Viper.... now Im loving the next Lambo up.

No doubt Ill be back on Porsche when I can buy the 911 GT.

The game I never beat. Got so caught up in getting perfect scores I gave up. This was after I broke my original GC controller :S. The funniest thing is that anyone who has gone for perfect scores knows you are almost using turbo 100% of the time, which makes for such an ungodly rediculously fast experience.

I like the game, look at my Eclipse , but I dont think is the best game or anything like that.

1º- It has a Catch up system, thats patethic. You cant make a very fast race and brake a bit more in the last corner, cos the cars running behind you have unreal speed advantages. Its the worst thing in the game.
2º- Cars have no real damage, only some windows broken, but thats all. Its unforgiveable not to have a damage model in a 2005 serious title.
3º- Physics are still far behind what was achieved by NFS Porsche, wich is still the best in the NFS series, IMHO.

So, its a mix of crap with excellent graphics which keeps me playing from time to time, just because im a racing titles fan.

You all shoud try the best racing title: Live For Speed

This game is awesome. Im only on BL # 10, i dont buy my cars though, I just race the ones of the guys that i beat. Im using big lou's eclipse with the tiger on the sides. The scenery is so well done and has such great lighting.

Not sure what car you have, but a tricked out Cararra GT will hit 244mph around Rockville. Not sure the car is capable of much more than that.

Too bad VW's Bugatti Veyron isn't in the game... I am also missing the Infiniti and a M3 that you can TUNE! What a bunch of BS... The nicest car in the game isn't tunable... If they paid for the damn BMW license, they should have just went all the way with it. :-(

Not to mention, did anyone notice that the BMW M3 GTR had the most power and accelleration, yet was very poor in handling? That is backwards from what the car really is. The car was easily the best handling vehicle for the GT class and yet wasn't the most powerful at all. It was just one of the best overall rides.

The Carrera GT is the top of the line car, 32/32... which Ive only just bought.

Flew around in a Corvette, Gallardo, the other Lambo, Viper... all upgraded to the max possible at the time and hit 234mph with the Corvette. Cant seem to do it in any other car... I rarely get past 180mph even running from the cops. I just want a nice straight road with no cops/traffic to get some speed up

Busy re-running a few races to trick out my Carrera GT. Its missing an engine, transmission and turbo at the moment... sold everything but the Viper to earn enough to get my final car up to speed. Just beat Ronnie so I have #2 and #1 to take out.

I havent used the BMW M3 GTR but initially, I found my pinkslip Corvette to be MUCH better than my pinkslip Viper. After a load of races, blacklist member or 2... the Viper pulled ahead and I sold the Corvette. I dont understand that but thats how it felt.
