Giants crowned superbowl champs.
again.
before the game starts.
word.

no strahan, no Umenyora.....hahaha

they were the reason the GIants went all the way last year

Um, Kiwanuka was out most of the year and playing LB when he wasn't, and Tuck was a beast with 10 sacks last year. I don't think there will be a huge dropoff from the DE position.

oh yea, Gibril Wilson....GONE

the defense is GONE, admit it

It was a beautiful storybook season for them last year, but it's not happening this year

Gibril Wilson was a decent player, not a great player, and he's easily replaced. The giants snagged Kenny Phillips, the top safety in the draft this year, who, from every indication, will be a big upgrade from Wilson. They also signed Sammy Knight, who is not great, but is serviceable, and Michael Johnson showed some good stuff last year. Gibril wilson was not a great player, I watched every play he made in the NFL. The defense is FAR from gone.

well, we'll have to wait and see

dont get me wrong, I hope you're predictions are 100% right

I have the Giants Defense on one of my fantasy leagues :D

I haven't predicted anything, just saying that the defense is far from done.

Minnesota At Green Bay Vikings! I say this will be the upset of the week

I don't consider this an upset, even though they are at Lambeau, but I agree with the pick!

KT

I only say upset because of the lines right now. I see the Vikings having a VERY good year.

Yep, home field advantage I guess. Man I can hardly wait for this game!

KT

Not as loud as Qwest field but still loud. :D

Totally. Keep meaning to get down to Qwest for a game. That Pats game looks very tempting.

KT

Don't forget to bring lots of money, I sold two tickets for the Pats game for $660.

Crap. I just looked on the Seahawks website and saw some for only $184 per, but I'm sure they are brutal seats.

KT

Craigslist.... You have to be patient, I got tix to the 49ers game for $50 each.

naa im figuring 4-5 maybe just maybe 6

I honestly can't figure out how the Bears got so much worse in the off season. We won 7 games last year, and have a healthier/better team this year.....how does that equate to 3 wins?

1) Probably the worst offense in the league. I laughed quite a bit when Ron Turner went on and on about how they don't need a #1 or #2 receiver. He has 5 guys that can play after all! I'm starting to miss Shoop and his field goal to victory strategy.

2) Ron Turner and his handling of the offense is about 10 losses. I figure the defense can win 3 of the other 6.

3) Defense will break down in October due to them being on the field 40+ minutes per game.

4) League has figured out the Cover 2 and Lovie doesn't like change.

5) Kyle Orton will have about 6 concussions due to the o-line's fail. Sexy Rexy will crumple in a mass and be on a greyhound fleeing chicago soon after 2 defenders slam into him unblocked.

6) Punters/Kickers figured out kicking to Hester means they won't have a job.

Exaggerated but you get the point. Of course this is IMO, I hope I'm wrong.

pretty much everything you listed was the same as last year and they still did better then 3 wins.

I think things are slightly worse than last year in just about every way. I also think the division improved where the bears stood pat aside from Forte (which who knows how that'll turn out), which is why I think they won't do as "well" as last year.

Again, I hope I'm wrong. I'm just really down about the team this year.

I only care about the Skins game and I think the Skins will probably lose. It won't surprise me if we were to win, though.

Only pick I don't really agree with is Baltimore over Cinci...

Too many keep giving Baltimore an automatic free pass because of their history of defense, but that's just what it is - history - there's little reason to believe their D will be the rock of a foundation they need it to be. Then throw in the fact that they're in a major rebuilding mode (new QB/coach) and its a recipe for disaster. I think Carson Palmer will lead the Bengals to a decently sizable win.

Bears over Indy - Manning is not 100% and gets sacked 3 times and leaves on a cart. Chicago starts off the season 2-0 with no Peyton or Smith. Boo ya

Indy could go without a quarterback and still beat the Bears

I don't know. The Bears tried that last year and and it didn't work for them.

No, they had Grossman which is worse than having no quarterback.

Lol, "go Orton".

If everyone on the Colts who might be injured does sit out, the Bears will win. Otherwise, Colts win by double digits. I mean c'mon, it's the Bears.

uhhhhhh, did you not see the part where we had the exact same thing, if not worse, last year?

And they "figured out Hester"? Really? Kinda like how teams shut him down last year right? 1 or 2 returns is a fluke....5 or 6 is ridiculous. He did that his rookie year and did even better the next. So either the Bears get a sick return or start at the 40 every time, which even a shitty offense can score occasionally.

Hurt last year: Harris, Dvorcheck, Urlacher, Brown.
Healthy this year: Harris, Dvorcheck, Urlacher, Brown.

Again, how can a team that didn't lose anybody and gained health be "slightly worse". That makes ~ 0 sense.

Let's see. They lost their best special teams player. Lost their #1 draft pick. Are/were attempting to sign fred miller for o-line help because it's still in shambles. Lost their best receiver.

Harris barely played this pre-season and can't go without a knee brace because he's "healthy"

Tillman misses just about everything because of his daughter (right thing for him to do obviously, but it sure won't help him on the field early in the year)

Clark has knee problems. Quite a few others have injuries as well.

The bears had great starting field position most of last year and how did that work out?

The list goes on..

But you're right, they lost nothing and no flaws whatsoever.
