Anybody think Jalen Hurts is anywhere near being the long term answer in Philly?

I'm not convinced.... although he DOES look really good from time to time he also makes frequent "unforced errors".
Thing is, many of our best players are on the other side of 30 and nearing the end of their shelf life. Sigh. Mid-tier is never where you want to be . . . no high draft picks and no post season success past the first round.

If your looking for sympathy from a Giants fan I have some bad news!

😉

(I would certainly take Hurts over Daniel Jones fwiw)

ohh man, your guys' teams haven't won a super bowl in several years or even 10! whatever shall you do?

You make a valid point..... I COULD be a Browns fan! 😉

*(I do like Baker Mayfield though!)

except for the cavs' lucky win in 2016, i don't expect to see another cleveland title again in my lifetime

the indians had 2 perfect chances and blew both of them

and the browns will never have what it takes to win it all

IMO the 1997 Cleveland Indians were one of the best MLB teams I've ever seen.... still upset that they fell short although I REALLY enjoyed them beating the Yankee's!

This HR didn't actually WIN anything BUT it was the turning point in the series:

if only jose mesa wouldn't have blown the save... that defeat was crushing. i thought for sure they had it.

i could barely sleep that night, then had to get up for a funeral the next day.

thankfully in 2016 i was on vacation during the series. i watched game 5 in a bar, but then didn't watch the last 2.

though flying back from my vacation, i had to transfer through ORD. that airport was filled with more cubs junk than should've been able to fit.

Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Cleveland Indians. Teams, don't let me become your fan if you ever want to win a championship. That's a combined 178 (55+50+73, respectively) seasons since their last, if any, championship.

Even my Mets have won it all in my lifetime but I do feel your pain. 😉

Well, there's my personal case, in which I left a team that would eventually win a championship while sticking with the loser franchise of the locality.

(Washington Capitals can die in every which way know to man. Go Montreal. Meanwhile, I will remain loyal to the Redskins)

Tom Brady is still the sportsbook's favorite for NFL MVP, but ARodg is close behind and in good position to steal the award just as he did a year ago.

But it would be completely undeserved, since @Captante said in September Rodgers is "very over-rated" and the Packers aren't even a strong contender. 😛

A German gal from Munich landed in Cincy and makes culture videos about Germans....
That is her youtube channel.

there's like a little old german area in cincy, over-the-rhine, that i've driven through a few times and wanted to check out

but when i've been there it's always been too early to stop at any of the restaurants/bars

i had great-great-grandparents come from germany but they didn't try to stay german because it was a bad look

He forced the trade. He wanted out.
He still has his Wentz moments, with Indy well ahead of the Pats 20-0 in the 3rd Qtr he forced a ball into triple coverage
for a Pats interception. This was the type of desperation heave you make if your BEHIND 20-0.

I dunno. Hurts is a mature dude, even when he was playing college ball, and had all the tools to own that. I thought his maturity would allow him to work into the NFl pretty well, but he just isn't "there" yet. Maybe.

I'm not sure if he's anyone's long term solution, but it might just be that if you let him ripen out another year or so, he could work it.

I thought Ryan Finley was going to the next Matt Ryan, but that isn't happening. I don't think he adjusted and can ever adjust to NFL speed. It seemed pretty evident, really fast with that guy.

BUT! Hurts worked out a connection with his boy there at the end of the 4th quarter with that over the shoulder catch, bullet throw "anti-fade," whatever they call that play. People call that a bad throw and lucky catch, but fuck watch it again. That was a play that they worked out where only his guy could catch it. That throw was fucking gold, and the play was money from the snap. That's what I like about Hurts, because he can do that stuff. I saw it in more games than I wanted to watch when Alabama played in those years, and I'm glad to see that he can still do it.

So....maybe?
