Oh brother, the little baby "wants a ring". Mommy come get his bottle, he's crying again!

What an idiot. His best chance to get a ring would be with the Pats. His best chance to get that huge contract would have been to just play out his year with the pats. His best chance to get anything at all is to just keep his mouth shut.

Citing a source close to Randy Moss, Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that Moss would be willing to sit out the remainder of the season if he dislikes the team that claims him off waivers.
Moss reportedly "wants a ring" from the team that claims him. Moss' agent, Joel Segal, has likely made the receiver's feelings known throughout the league. Obviously, it's going to be a prohibitive factor for less competitive clubs. According to Rapoport, Moss visited the Jets' facility on Tuesday because "He sees their potential and realizes their lack of deep threat." Moss apparently isn't a big Braylon Edwards fan. For what it's worth, Bodog.com has the Rams as the favorites for Moss at 7/2. He'll be officially claimed at 4ET.

I don't see how this threat would deter anyone from claiming him. If a team takes him and he sits out, he won't get paid. If he dogs plays, well that's what he's been doing all season anyway.

I don't know how his sitting out would affect things, but I believe any team that picks him up on the waiver wire will be required to pay the remainder of what the Vikings promised him. If no team picks him up, then the Vikings are on the hook for that and he becomes a free agent that anyone can sign for any amount they can agree to.

Of course if he gets picked up by a team and refuses to play I don't know if that team will be able to get out of paying him.

I was hoping Cleveland or Carolina would claim him. That way he'd get to sulk the rest of the season...

In the meantime, the Bills claimed Merriman.

If he sits out, he can be placed on a special list that is called something like the "abandoned team" list. It is unclear under the current CBA what that means, but there's a chance that the claiming team would still own his rights next season. They also wouldn't have to pay him and, of course, this situation could all change if the new CBA takes effect.

Makes sense with Britt out. CJ should get a big boost with the double coverage on Moss. And Titans should be good enough where Moss doesn't sit out the rest of the year.

LOL I feel sorry for you Titans fans. You'll see why when that deep ball is 2 inches from his outstretched arms and he just goes "Oops, guess I couldn't get to it"

I'd rather take that chance than not. To be quite honest I'm content with his crying ass halfway trotting down the sideline, hopefully taking some pressure off the line so CJ can squeak through a little more frequently. Couldn't care less if Randy even catches a ball if that happens.

Huh, makes sense, especially with Britt out. Of course I was excited to get him however many weeks ago and look how that turned out. 😀

Somehow I feel the Randy Moss party train isn't quite finished for the season! There may well be another trip somewhere!
