Except the Giants. 😉

You clearly don't watch South Park.

Who cares? The games are nationally televised. Anyone who wants to watch those hands signals can from their couch. Anyone can buy a ticket to the games and watch the hand signals in person. Sports teams have been videotaping their opponents for as long as the technology has been available. Studying your opponent and building a strategy to take them down is smart.

Sounds like a bunch of sore losers to me.

The Pats have been phenomenal the last few years. A couple of tape recording won't change that.

The tapes aren't from the games they are from CLOSED practices.

True enough. I don't spend my life plastered to the television, unless it's pro football. 😀

Are you saying the Pat's infiltrated opposing teams stadiums and taped their
practices?. Please link your source, I haven't read this anywhere...

How did you ever get that impression? The only one that would have been a closed practice was the super bowl walkthrough of the Rams practice which DOESN'T exist. All the other tapes are coaches signals on the sidelines during games.

It amazes me how ignorant people are to this subject but they assume the worst because they just can't come to grips with the fact that the Pats kicked your team's ass because they were better; not because of a tape of signals that are in plain view of anyone watching the game.

Why is a senator getting involved in sports? They need to be more concerned with IMPORTANT stuff like the war and economy rather than wasting time with the NFL.

Let the commissioner do his job and resolve this issue by fining the heck out of the Patriots or suspending them or whatever....but don't waste my tax dollars on that crap.

The same with other teams and coaches that have admitted to doing it also? Like Jimmy Johnson with the Cowboys and Mike Shanahan with the Broncos?

I didn't know those two also taped their opponents. Got a link?

ALmost every team has done it. When this news broke, there were tons of people stepping forward saying that it was not just limited to the Pats, but it was happeing in the whole league. The media just decided to ignore it so they could make some more news.

How? Offensive signals are mic'd to the QB. If they're trying to read the offensive coordinators lips, nothing illegal with that.

Funny how I care even less about this now than when it was all first playing out.

Typical NE fan, brush it off as nothing new when it is quite damaging new evidence for everyone outside of a few select NFL officials who brushed it under the table.

In one of the last tapes that Walsh shot -- the 2002 AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers -- the finished product includes sideline footage of the Pittsburgh coaches sending in signals, followed by a scan of the scoreboard that captures down, distance and game time, followed by two separate shots of the ensuing play, one from above the press box and the other from an end zone camera.

"The other seven tapes show the final product, which is a series of coaches' signals, followed by the play, followed by coaches' signals and then the next play -- all lined up one after another," said Levy, who represents Walsh. "So the final videotapes contain the opposing coaches' signals lined up directly with the play that was run, one after another."

Hines Ward and other Steeler's players commented after that game that the pats were calling out their plays before the ball was snapped. Not using the Pats lingo for the defense they wanted to run based on Pitt's formations & personnel, but calling the plays using the same exact wording found in the Pitt playbook.

Probably cost Pitt their 5th SB. The Pats "dynasty" will always be remembered as severely tarnished by their cheating. Not much the leauge can do now, but their 3 titles mean will never mean anything to anyone outside of NE.

Nice job putting a black cloud over the NFL, that is Bellicheat's true legacy.

"Its all just part of the game" when they get caught doing it but turn the tables and let someone get caught doing it to them and Cheatriots fans would be sqealing like a stuck pig...

ban Bellicheat, crappy coach anyways. Anyone that believes they really turned over every tape to begin with is an idiot. They gave up the least incriminating, and kept enough hidden to go 18-1. You saw what happened when they had to face the Giants the 2nd time and did not have their normal advantage from cheating.

It wil be interesting to see how they fare next season. I am sure they were watched very closely this year and were likely not able to make any more "cheat sheet" tapes.

Make them forfeit any wins in which a tape was made/used, including any subsequent wins if the game in question was in the playoffs. That would include at least one Super Bowl.

I guess they were not happy being the joke of the league, so they aspired to be the least respected. At least they succeeded in their goal, congrats losers...

Leave it to Alistar who knows nothing about how the NFL works. Teams change their signals week to week because they know the likelyhood of their signals being stolen (whether by camera or not) are great and it's fairly common practice.

Your over-the-top comments about the Pats are quite hilarious and reveal more about your jealousy than anything else.

Senator Arlen Specter said Thursday he's concerned that the NFL has altered its story regarding the New England Patriots videotaping opposing coaches' play-calling signals in violation of league rules.

Specter said he's "particularly interested'' in New England's 24-17 win over the Steelers in the title game Jan. 27, 2002, at Heinz Field.

Isnt that the game where Phil Simms commented that "its almost like the Patriots have the Steelers playbook"? lol

Specter is pandering to his constituents yet again. Funny how he never retracted his assertion that there was filming of the Rams practice when he went on the Rush Limbaugh show... and now it turns out there's no evidence of it:

Rush, if we get enough fire under it, they're going to have to show those letters -- and when they do, they're going to have to change their tune and let Walsh testify, because those reports are looking pretty strong, but there was filming for the 2002 Super Bowl.

Were steroids a banned substance in the NFL during the 70's? No, they were not, apparently we see who knows nothing about the NFL. Pretty much every team in the NFL used steroids in the 70's for this reason, if anything the playing field was level in that regard. Do teams also change their playbook every week or between each half? Stop trying to make apologist excuses for your teams dishonorable tactics.

Pitt fans will never be jealous of the Pats, we have two more titles and didnt have to cheat to win any of them. I'm sure fans of every other team are jealous that their team is not known as the Pats = Cheaters & The Greatest Choke Artists in NFL History.

Love how the Pats fans say this is old news, nothing new here.

BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT (TICKER) ?It has been long assumed the New England Patriots? ?Spygate? scandal only involved the videotaping of opposing team?s defensive signals.

?We don?t know (about attempts to steal offensive signals) yet because we haven?t looked at the tapes,? NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN. ?All we have is the list supplied last night (by Walsh?s attorney). One of them is labeled ?OFF signals.? None of others are listed that way. Let us look at the tapes and we?ll have more to say about that.?

I guess Specter must be a jealous Pitt fan. 😕

From the article you linked:

After former Patriots employee Matt Walsh agreed to turn over eight videotapes of five opponents in six games between 2000 and 2002 -- including a victory in the AFC Championship Game against the Steelers following the 2001 season -- a league spokesman said the information was "consistent'' with previous findings.

"I think it's kind of strange that they should say that before they see the tapes or hear Walsh,'' Specter told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "They originally said they only had them from '06 and '07. Then, they changed their story, having them back to 2000. Then, they said it was only defensive signals. Now, they've admitted it's offensive signals. They haven't explained why they destroyed the tapes or the notes. And their excuse is pretty flimsy.''

Looks like the NFL is still trying to lie about and brush this scandal under the rug to protect the league.

Why was your owner so adamant at refuting Jim Haslett when he pointed out the Steeler's steroid use back in the day? Seems like a point of embarrassment for him. It's no wonder that you would be able to dominate the trenches when your team started using 'roids before everyone else. Plus it ruined the health of many of your players and many died young. That's chuck noll's legacy (read courson's book).

As for the offensive signals, are you retarded? The signals come from the headset, anyone who gives the actual offensive signals through hands signals for everyone to see is dumb.

Excellent, even though the NFL has yet to review the offensive tape in question Phokus has already determined it is irrelevant. It is obviously more than just stealing signals, it is matching it up to down/distance, time on clock, everything to make a complete play by play breakdown of the opposing teams signals and plays.

Before everyone else or at the same time? Either way it hardly matters, they were not a banned substance and it would not be considered cheating. Care to talk about any other team or any other sport in which athletes took actions that were not in violation of league rules?

They dominated all over the field. Did Lynn Swann take steroids? No, he actually took BALLET and got ridiculed at first until the results were evident on the field.

Stop trying to change the subject and shift phokus, but I can understand why you would as a fan of those losers.....

Dude, you're so clueless, it's hilarious, your own player wrote a very interesting book that you should read: "False Glory: Steelers and Steroids" by steve courson. Noll even had to appear before a senate committee and lied his ass off about the Steeler's steroid use. Gee i wonder why.

Face it, when you guys started using a substance that gave your offensive/defensive lineman a literaly huge advantage over opposing players, it makes a lot more of a difference than stealing signals which you can do with either eyes or videotape and was and is a widespread practice. The game is won in the trenches. Everyone knows that.

I actually like that title a lot... False Glory. Perfectly applicable to the Steeler's 'dynasty'.

The fact that you think videotaping something that everyone and anyone can see gives you a distinct advantage and that somehow explains all of the patriots wins makes you look pett y and retarded.
