PaulNEPats, why do you still talk???

It may be difficult for you to believe, but the Patriots lost, they're out of the playoffs, they got smacked around hard, they weren't that great a team this year to begin with, Tom Brady isn't even in the top five for best QB's in the league...it goes on and on, but when it comes down to it, you should just give it up.

How did the Cowboys do this year Deeko?

The difference between you and I, is I don't go into every football thread and talk about how great the Cowboys are and how they are going to win the superbowl. Unless its an Eagles thread, but thats all in good fun. I post my opinion on the teams at hand - you interject your distorted view of the Patriots into every post.

I agree that the Pats were a bit overrated going into the playoffs, but to say that Brady isn't one of the top five QBs in the NFL is extremely ignorant.

Extremely ignorant? I disagree. Top 10, sure thing, but top five is arguable.

How can anyone hate Brady? He's not a thug or a trash talker. He's just a good player who enjoys playing the game.

I'm not a Pats fun but I'm definately a Brady fan and just wonder how anyone can hate the guy.

Because hes a good player.

This was just the Pats' off year again (like in 2003)......i suspect they'll be back with more force next season, and add another ring to thier fingers.

Either way i am also a good Steelers fan........so the win yesterday felt really good.
But then the Bears' loss hurt me a little inside :(

Top 5-10 in the active NFL or top 5 ever? Top 5 in the active NFL is a given. You name 5 who are better?

Manning, Palmer, Brady have to be the Top 3 right now.

edit: oh and to keep on topic of the game. I was rooting for Indy the whole way b/c I really like Dungy and really wanted him to win it. But Pit deserved to win the game and I would have felt horrible for them if they lost it. Troy intercepted that ball (regardless of some stupid rule, everyone knew it was an INT). Then Bus, who hadn't fumbled in like 4000 carries stupidly holds the ball in one arm only and didn't run low enough, go the ball popped out...that could have been the last play of his career....how much would that suck for him..heh?

You think Palmer would be in the top 3?? Please. Maybe your using the Pro Bowl players for this analysis? Plummer should have gone instead of Carson anyway, and now he is going in Carson's stead - which is as it should be. And I wouldn't even rank Plummer in the top 5, much less Palmer

You obviously don't follow football too much. 3rd on the ballot for MVP voting this year, 3 Super Bowl Rings, 2 Super Bowl MVPs, and single handedly keeping the Pats season alive for the first 10 games of the year. Stop being such a Pats hater and follow logic. Brady, as just about everyone in the NFL will say (including the players), is the best QB in football. Rod Smith was calling him the best in football before the the playoff game as well.

Roethlisberger did as well.

"People say Manning," Roethlisberger said yesterday, but then he added his own opinion:

"Tom Brady is, by far, the best quarterback in the NFL."

player opinion > uneducated fan opinion

You must be some rediculous Denver fan, Carson Palmer is EASILY one of the better QBs in the league, far better than Plummer.

Carson Palmer: 4th in passing yards - 3836
Jake Plummer: 12th in passing yards - 3366

Carson Palmer: 1st in TD passes - 32 TDs
Jake Plummer: 13th in TD passes - 18 TDs

Carson Palmer: 2nd in passer rating - 101.1
Jake Plummer: 7th in passer rating - 90.2

Carson Palmer: 67.8% completion percentage
Jake Plummer: 60.7% completion percentage

The only thing Plummer has that is "better" than Palmer is his 5 fewer INTs (7 vs. 12), however Palmer has 14 more TDs to negate that (and it shows in the passer rating).

You must be completely uninformed, because claiming Plummer to be better than Palmer is just rediculous, and to say he isn't even top 5 when he averages 2nd in the 3 major categories is just plain retarded.

I love Porters comment at the end.

And in all seriousness, i agree with him..... it seems the games this weekend were all influenced by the feelings held towards teams...........hopefully next weekend will contain more football and less BS

Kid, don't tell me what I do and don't follow, you have the most biased, uneducated football opinion on this board.

Players opinions are NOT that big a deal. Coaches, that's a different story, but players, unless its a DB that has had to defend him, or a WR that's played with him, to them its just hearsay and stats, like for you and me.

Now, as for who is the best? The only you can DEFINTIELY put in the top are Manning and Palmer. They are clearly the class of this league. As for the rest, its honestly a tossup between McNabb, Culpepper, Vick, Hasselback, Delhomme, and Brady. Take your pick out of those three for 3-5, I don't think any of them are deserving enough to say YES, put them in the top five.

Yes, you are entirely right. Your opinion is = an NFL player's.

Give me a break. The fact you put Brady in the same class as Hasselback further shows your ignorance of the sport.

No, I didn't say my opinion is as good as an NFL players. Clearly they know the game better than me, but unless its one of the two situations I mentioned, they've got better things to do than watch Tom Brady tape.

Why? Brady is not the superstar you would love him to be. Yes, he's won superbowls, but so has Trent Dilfer. So has Brad Johnson. He's a good quarterback but he is not the next Joe Montana. Hell, Tiki Barber received MVP votes, and he ain't exactly LT.

Umm, McNabb went to four straight championship games, in case you didn't notice, three of those with Todd Pinkston and James Thrash as his primary receivers....I hate the Eagles more than you'd think its possible to hate an NFL team, but he is a great quarterback, I was tempted to put him on the definites with Manning and Palmer.

And hey, Hasselback, I'll admit he's not that great.

Kinda like I'm saying for Brady.
