One of the earliest lessons of an economics padawan is OPPORTUNITY COST. Every decision made, has a trade off.

Packers' decisions bit them in the ass tonight.

Titans were "weakest #1 seed" in a long time. That L didn't surprise me.

But this game? I don't know how the 9ers pulled it off but we did.
Lafleur is proving to be a bum of sorts. League worst special teams ROFL. I recall one year the Chargers under Norv had #1 O and D but their STs sucked.

The New Green Bay Order will commence next year and the beta test looked downright disastrous with Jordan Love. Rodgers will be commuting to the AFC next year.

So, you want a Buc or a Ram?
I'll take the Rams, again. I'd hate to play against Brady.

I didn't realize it at the time, but apparently the Packers only had 10 men out on the field when SF went for the game winning FG. Just adding insult to injury there for the Packers ST.

Now that the Tua experiment in Miami has run it's course that might be a spot for AR to land, problem is Bills and Allen just seem to keep getting better, maybe Denver or Steelers.

Did I say in the other thread that I thought the Titans wouldn't make the Super Bowl? Nobody agreed with me...

Yeah, I also said I wouldn't predict what the 49ers would do, after some disappointments this season their late season run has taken my breath away. What happened tonight even more so. Dang! The end of that game was like a dream, it couldn't have happened but it did. That touchdown! Deebo's last run for a first down. Deebo hops off the field on one leg! Still iffy for a FG but they get a few more yards and Robbie kicks it through with 1 second on the clock. Did you see Deebo's face after the game?

I'm making no predictions about the remaining games.

Bengals - Titans
A real struggle where certain strengths of the Titans were evident. Titans' Defense was tough and doesn't give opponents many opportunities, with the Mixon TD run the rare botch. Too bad for them, Burrow is a pure SNIPER of a quarterback, and Vrabel trusting Henry too much cost him once for sure by passing up the XP, and possibly twice on the 4th down on the edge of FG range.

Had the game been 17-16 with the Titans leading, Tenn wouldn't have been passing like they were at the end of the game. They'd be running Henry or Foreman in the "Riggo drill" with Cincy hanging on for dear life.

Sniper Burrow threw many passes "perfectly", and they had to be or else the Bengals would have been going home. The final drive's out to Chase could not have been more perfect and timely, and that was after getting intimate with the ground all day.

Packers-49ers
A hot start and a cold finish. A rabbit and a turtle in a race. Yamcha winning but getting cocky, only to die because he left an opening.
And the usually mundane special teams winds up being the deciding factor for the game.

Colts might go all in on Rodgers if they can find a buyer for Wentz...the GM dropped a hint they weren't totally committed to Wentz.

I thought everyone believed Bills/Chiefs would be the meaningful team and this Titans/Bengals winner would just be the obligatory formality for the Bills/Chiefs.

Hey, Kittle stepped up today. He was kinda AWOL last two games. He dropped that first pass to him, wide open in the middle of the field and made up his mind he wouldn't drop another, and IIRC he didn't. Next pass to him was OMG how did he catch that pass???? Kittle's play took a lot of pressure off Deebo. The other 49ers receivers, who had been so great in the last few games were just not happening today. It was basically Deebo and George. The D really came to play. Special teams too, I was just did that really happen? That was a badass win!

All 3 of these must wins by the 49ers on the road, each more improbable than the last. If they go on to win the Super Bowl I'd have to say this tops anything from the Walsh and Seifert eras. Those were often great, dominant teams with very special players and there was great team chemistry, but what they're doing now ...

No, Titans had plenty of picks to win it all.
I didn't see that in the wild card thread. At least I wasn't. Titans seemed to be the spoiler type who couldn't win it all was the essence of what I said. And as a point of excessive pride, I waxed glowingly about Burrow, calling him a future HOFer...

I get the feeling that in or lose this is Brady's last dance, he has seven rings, about any meaningful QB record there is to have and the wife wants him done with anyway.

49ers might be doomed in getting Brady as the opponent though.

Given that SF didn't want Brady even though Brady wanted to be a 49er, it is highly likely he will have an extreme desire to humiliate the entirety of the 49ers staff.

So, Brady might already be looking ahead and will be laser focused against the Rams tomorrow because I have no doubt he wants to smash the 9ers.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too. Brady and Rodgers were both 49ers fans growing up and both were rejected by the 9ers.

I thought we were doomed vs. the Packers yet we pulled out a miracle, so here's to hoping the Rams take them out of the playoffs.

My Bucs have looked flat, and at times, scary bad this season. I am hoping Brady announcing he might not be back next year, turns out to be a brilliant motivator for the team. Defense better show up today. Or else Brady better have inserted that magic horseshoe even further up his ass.
