Just put on the Skinomi 'TechSkin' screen protector... had to spray the liquid on the adhesive side of the sheet, then slide it into place... a bit tricky as I found it hard to see if the sheet was aligned right with the ports... will see how it looks later after it dries.

I'm still using the stock protector that came with mine lol. I thought about getting the skinomi ones but I always ruin 2/3 protectors trying to get them on.

About 6 hours later now, and the screen doesn't look good....directions said give it 12 hours... we'll see tomm morning... if it looks the same, I'm taking it off.

That's why I hate screen protectors, finding a good one is tough. Although the skinomi ones are recommended and got high reviews.

At the Skinomi site, it says:
"Micro-bubbles, streaks, and imperfections will disappear within 2-3 days." Hmm.....

Actually, the Skinomi did get better... leaving it on for now.

Received the Ting GSM SIM card 11am today and activated the N6.

The new toy / A 'want', not a 'need'..... another consumer/lemming reporting for duty.

For the most part in this field "locked bootloader" doesn't mean it wasn't locked- they are all locked by default for certain DRM to work. It means you have the ability to unlock it, like your Nexus.

Not very precise terminology, but hey that is what happens when tech goes mainstream.

Locked bootloader != Encrypted bootloader. AT&T and Verizon phones have encrypted locked bootloaders that makes them hard to unlock.

skinomi is the weirdest screen cover to me. I don't know why anyone would want to install that weird rubbery thingy onto the screen.

I install those rubbery things to the back of my phone though, it provides a nice grippy surface.

Say what you want, but Google has so much work to do for their backup system. It still doesn't restore your apps + data. It barely restores your settings.
The last couple of times I've had apps reinstall, I could choose to select all apps or check next to each one I wanted to restore.

Oh, forgot to ask...

When the N6 is on and then goes to 'sleep', when I revive it it's in safe mode with message "Swipe up to unlock". When I do that the key pad comes up to make a call... So, I have to power off, then come back in again... that's a PITA. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here...

Did you put it in safe mode by holding the power off icon after holding the power button? I never heard of this. Do you have security enabled in the settings?

I don't know how the heck I ended up putting the phone in 'safe' mode....

I have changed one thing today so that the N6 won't 'sleep' for 30 minutes... the max setting.

Well if you are in safe mode then a reboot will bring you back to normal mode.

I know that.... that's a pain...

How do I shut off it going into 'safe mode'?

You mean "reboot" is............ shutting phone off, then turning back on, OR something else?

Yea just turn it off then back on. To prevent it going to safe mode next time you turn it off just tap power off don't hold it.

It's been kinda' fun going thru the thread about 'Best Apps' for Android. I have my list now, and will go to Google Store to check them in detail.

Not in the favor of switching phones within a year but change is always good 😛
I would recommend you xperia z4 as your next choice. I think this will be a STOP for you and you will keep it for comparatively longer duration.

Buddy of mine solved it...

Turns out, after the N6 went to 'sleep' after inactivity, when I touched power-on button, the bottom home key was locked and said "Scroll up to activate". When I did that the phone-call number pad came up. I didn't realize that I was then supposed to put in my created PIN/PW... Duh...

Voila.... all set... -another dumb new-user starting to figure things out...

When a screen is full of app icons (the first scroll to the right moving away from home page), it seems I can't hold down/then drag certain icons to another screen... won't let me do that, it just re-arranges the icons on the same screen.

And I also want to put similar apps together in folders... more reading required.
