Same with me. I own a Wii U and 360 (and soon PS4), but if the game is also available on PC, I'm absolutely buying it on the PC. Consoles to me are for the console exclusives. There's no way I'm playing a game on a console at 30 frames per second, when I can do it on my PC at 1440p and 60+ frames per second (with higher resolution textures, AA/AF, possible mods, etc). When I was like 15 and could only afford a console, then I had no choice.

When I was 14 has a console but ended up building my own. Couldn't really afford it so I just bought the parts one by one.

Fake pics are fake. John Carmack said so. Links? Nope. John Carmack also said those aren't needed.

Xb1 is coded to metal silly pc tards.

What? And how does that work? If someone have a PC and a console he is PC gamer that play games on console as well, but that doesn't make him a console gamer that plays games on PC?

PC + console = PC gamer playing console games
console + PC =/= console gamer playing PC games

Haha, no you misunderstand.

There are quite a lot of PC gamers who also game on consoles. I'd say that at least half of people who game on PCs also game on consoles.

Now as far as console gamers, I'd say probably 10% or so at most of all PS3/360 gamers also game on PC. This is what I meant in that 'the reverse is mostly not true'.

That's what I meant, not that you should call people who play on both different things, lol that makes no sense at all. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I agree, almost everyone I know games on either pc or console.I notice a lot of the hardcore pc gamers I know game on both. Most hardcore console gamers I know own dinky laptops and don't game on pc.

I play both but only consoles I play are ps2 and earlier. One of my favorite console games is jet force gemini.

But I am a huge fan of older graphic aka the blocky stuff!

I would like to see high tessellation games that look like unigine to become more main stream on pcs.

John Carmack said links backing statements aren't needed??? Fake John Carmack.

But, consoles are coded much closer to the metal than PCs. Something that Carmack, Sweeney and others have been asking for on the PC side for some time.

There are reasons...it's called exclusive games. You know...the games you never ever get to play on your PC. Like Mario, Zelda, Uncharted, Halo, Last of Us, Ratchet & Clank, Destiny etc. That is why I own consoles. I play games on PC that are better on PC like Battlefield, Crysis, Watch Dogs, Skyrim etc

It's called convenience as well. Not everyone wants to build a PC I don't know why people think it's the best way. There are huge differences between consoles and PCs. I bet every single person here can list a time they rebooted their PC, installed new hardware, or new software, and had their PC go ballisitic, not boost, not post, etc.

I just built a new PC and it wouldn't post I was pissed as hell that 1000+ in parts put together and I was still spending 3-4 hours trouble shooting.

Some people want a console experience, not even just because of exclusives, just because the experience just works.

There are reasons each person will choose each type of environment no reason to say one is more superior than the other.

@RussianSensation I think you're being trolled, he clearly can understand what you're saying if he can reply.

Got it! But that only means there are a lot more console gamers than PC gamers.

Simple math:
People playing both platforms:
50%xPC_GAMERS= 10%xCONSOLE_GAMERS
For each Glorious PC Master Race Gamer there are 5 peasant console gamers ;)

And Huddy, and Lottes and many others.

Oles Shishkovstov (Metro Last Night dev.):

No, you just cannot compare consoles to PC directly. Consoles could do at least 2x what a comparable PC can due to the fixed platform and low-level access to hardware.

Common sense and paying attention?

There are many many times more gamers who game exclusively on consoles in the US.

http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/YAKms/2005-2012-pc-vs-console-gaming-population-growth-rates

Hum! Common sense is the less common of senses and, sorry, but I don't recognize "paying attention" as a valid source.

US != world

Your link gives info from VGChartz. Very interesting, because that same source has been rejected in the past, when some PC gamer did not like the data. Don't remember the exact words, but he pretended that the data was fabricated.

Maybe this point has been brought up before, but I kinda wonder: Since the next gen consoles essentially uses PC hardware, how difficult would it be to have good console emulators on the pc (eventually)? Obviously both Sony and MS probably won't allow that to ever happen, but wouldn't it be cool to have a pc that can just play everything?

All we have to do is read your signature to know how biased your comments on any matter will be. Please don't troll here too like you did on the PS4 thread.

I'll game on both platforms but prefer PC. Ill be getting a PS4 for the exclusives and for the times I want a "quick" game. Then again, maybe not, my PC games all update automatically and since turn it on daily and have steam and origin load on startup, getting into a game is quite fast. I wouldn't be using my PS4 nearly as often and if my recent experience with getting back to my PS3 games is any indication, it probably won't be so quick with the updates and such.

If they get fully hacked it should be possible eventually. Though that may be a long while as even many Dreamcast games don't play that great on high end rigs. However the Wii emulator isn't too bad but it's not much better than DC hardware.o_O

It can update in the background now if things work as planned. The system can suspend a game when you shut it down and when you power back up, instantly load where you were in the game too.

The MGS5 trailer was in real time. Did you not see the trailer/press conference? Maybe you should watch it before you do.

There's no way in hell BF3 even comes close to MSG5's graphics right now.

Fox Engine is next-gen. Frostbite 2 is last gen. Try again.

As you seem to avoid the question, what hardware have you used? I still have not seen a console game eclipse circa-2007 Crysis. I would be surprised if the new console set even matches that with the HW they will be using.

PS4 and XB1 use x86 CPU architecture and DirectX-esque APIs and shader libraries. Dreamcast and Wii don't, and for that matter neither do PS3 and Xbox 360 (well, the XB360 probably has similarities to DirectX). PS4 is probably the most "emulatable" console ever because it uses a straightforward CPU/GPU/RAM pool setup, without throwing a "data move engine" and a few megabytes of high-speed embedded RAM like the XB1 does. It may end up being easier to emulate the PS4 than the 360 or the PS3.
