The MGS5 trailer was in real time. Did you not see the trailer/press conference? Maybe you should watch it before you do.

There's no way in hell BF3 even comes close to MSG5's graphics right now.

Fox Engine is next-gen. Frostbite 2 is last gen. Try again.

i watched the whole thing, you have rose-colored glasses man

you can compare the games and it's really clear =)

Another thing I want to throw out there given this post:
Next Gen uses 8 cores. At this point we know that developers have been able to utilize these quite well. Even though we know that SandyBridge is a better CPU than the current AMD APU out there, after seeing the new games do you think that 6 core and 8 core will drastically improve performance now in new games?

We'd never have expected a AMD APU with those specs to put out that graphic level quality on PC gaming, but on Xbox One it seems to be working. So how do you all think we'll be seeing core scaling with new games given a first look now?

Edit: I just want people to remember that if you're watching a live stream it's at 720p and probably not 60 FPS. Seeing it live is probably much different quality and much more detailed (or we hope at least) so that's why I'm just talking about PC expectations because I am not going to sit around and act as if I know what Xbox One or PS4 will actually look like until a couple months from now.

no

most games are not cpu limited anyways, check out the anand article on gmaing cpu's which indicates a 2500k is even overkill until you have cf/sli 7970/680

for those who are wondering, check out that texture horse mane, LOOKS SO GOOD RIGHT

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=LnOXV4BQuJw#t=39s

99% chance everything before the gameplay is pre-rendered and it still looks bad

Again 720p... May look different in 1080p when you're playing. Just saying.

I will say that obviously some stuff was pre-rendered. That TitanFall game play of course what predone especially with the way it ended. I hope we actually see someone walk on stage with a controller, load up a game and play it during one of the conferences. That'd be cool.

no

fixed =p

The graphics in the trailer aren't that great... Terrain looks flat and dull with random rocks sticking out, vehicle textures don't look good at all. Shadows look ok though, and the character model was detailed.

I just don't get it. You're looking at one horse's mane(which looks great by the way) and determining how next-gen looks or how the entire game looks?

Is this a joke?

You do realize that the One is running BF4 right? You do know that BF4 is looking far better than BF3 right?

BF4 is also going to run on the PC. BF3 also ran on PC and console, and the console version was horrible. Until we see side by side shots of XBO/PS4/PC, we won't know if there is any difference. But I completely expect the PS4 to look better than the XBO (It has more hardware), and PC to look better than both.

But the games that MS showed today, most of them were pre-rendered commercials, and MSG certainly did not look mind blowing by any means. As mentioned before by several, FC3 looks better. Period. And its nearly a year old game being compared to a game that is not even out.

i'm saying that there are parts of mgs5 which look bad, and that it's not miles ahead of anything we have now

what do you mean by "next-gen"? do you mean next gen consoles? the hardware in those consoles is already available, there is nothing "next-gen" about them

new engines will always have the potential to look better, however, nothing jumps out as "amazing" like say crysis 1 back in '07

what is your point? the one is running bf4? yes, PC's run bf4, including the one - and i have no doubt it will look better than bf3, but thats not because it's running on the one, the game is just been updated to look better on everything that runs it

One thing I like about NextGen is that they are closer to PC so it should be easier for them to do a proper port.

:D Sorry but despite watching the MSG5 trailer in 720p, MSG5 looks far better. Period. Looks like egos are hurt here. Time to leave.

that looks like crap

The most exciting thing to me that hopefully these engines will be better optimized for more cores and that we're getting new engines in general of course haha.

Maybe we'll get a better expectation of PC graphics as E3 progresses and we see PC exclusives.

Those 6-8 cores are each less than half as fast as intel cores. With multi-threaded code they might be able to match an i5-2500k, maybe, but there's no power left over to do more than that i5 can do.

So, for console ports maybe the desktop PC CPUs will have to work harder than before, but the console version won't be better than with a sandy bridge i5.

I'll agree that spending $500 + $40/year (Live) will get you a nice gaming console that rivals a more expensive PC.

You think we'll be able to see engine features that were disabled or not able to be fully utilized on Xbox that we get unlocked on PC? I'm just hoping physics are much more advanced. EA is showing their stuff now though so I'm really excited to watch.

Yeah ok Troll. If you think poor textures, lighting issues, and bland environments are awesome, then good for you. You are a true console gamer.

Seems like they really have ZERO clue what actual gameplay footage means over at EA.
