Letting the UI bonus expire would be exceedingly unwise policy.

Guys, all these people who haven't been working for months will suddenly have all the money they need for upcoming rent payments though, right? Right? I mean, all fixed! Amirite?

I don’t know about ‘problem solved’ but ‘problem made much better’? Sure. Don’t think any rational person would argue otherwise.

Yes and let's federalize unemployment insurance while we're at it.

I just started to initiate a refinance, about at the bottom on rates. Glad I was an ant.

Toss a few trillion more on the national debt, problem solved.
We will end up needing to spend trillions more to dig ourselves out of the hole created by mismanagement of the pandemic. Or we can be Japan and have a lost decade or two.

if the GOP cared about being fiscally conservative theN we would have been much more aggressive in our ‘lockdown’ was o both maximize its effectiveness and reduce the damage to our economy. So far we have fucked both of those up.

If the GOP cared about being fiscally conservative they wouldn't have pushed through trillions in debt financed tax cuts for rich people during a period of near full employment.

The GOP does not care about fiscal conservatism, they oppose money going to the non-rich. I'm very confident if you proposed further economic stimulus in the form of removing capital gains taxes or something like that they would be all for it regardless of the price tag.

Give it to the Rich so it will trickle down. To the Job Creators so they'll create jobs. Spend more on the military. More cops. Bigger prisons. And never, ever raise taxes at the top to pay for any of it. Taxes are for the little people.

So Trumps argument is “re-elect me because I am an attention whore”. That’s not very compelling

Trump is right. I need to elect Biden so we can watch Trump's HUGE ratings during his criminal trial.

Trump may be slightly underestimating the degree to which he is overexposed and how tired people are of him.

Yeah, the fiscal conservatives, small government types are distinguished on by the fact that they believe in corporate welfare. After that it's FYIGM for the peasants.

To have depression era homelessness rates will be infinitely worse than adding to the national debt.

The fall is shaping up to be the perfect storm of economic Armageddon if nothing is done and that’s not taking into account Covid getting further out of control.

If the alternative to that is 32% of home owners becoming homeless, would you really pick that one instead?

You might want to consider what would happen to the real estate market if 32% of houses suddenly become unoccupied... It would make the 2008 market crash look like a nice sunday picknick.

Maybe instead you guys should close down every single overseas military base, and bring home all your soldiers. Then saw the entire military off by the kneecaps, cut manpower and materiel by 90%, stop all nonsense corporate welfare projects like the F-35 and the latest, non-functional aircraft carrier whatsitsname.

No need to throw away a trillion dollars a year on military spending when you're surrounded by friendly nations north and south, and friggin oceans east and west. Keep some nukes around if you like, junk most of the rest. Entire brigades of tanks and other useless armored vehicles could go right down the smelters, what point are they serving? Nobody's ever going to invade the U.S. mainland.

Of course, you'll have to stop playing world police imperialists too, that might be rough. If you get some sort of perverse kick out of stomping small defenseless nations, that is.

People want off the ride. Lots of people.

You mean, an insane narcissist conned 63M Americans into making him president? Remember how we begged them not to do it? Couldn't hear us. Didn't want to, either, because we'd already been declared the enemy of the culture warrior tribe. Fucking Libtards. A person doesn't have to think very much to have a shitty attitude, something they wear like a badge of honor. Some of them will never admit it, never even understand it, but I'm sure many Trump voters are more than a bit chagrined at this point. Took a chance they shouldn't have & lost. I'm sure it seemed like a great idea at the time.

Nuh-uhh! Bail out the Rich, liquidate the little people. S&L bailout. LTCM fiasco. Tech bust bailout. Housing bubble bailout. and now this. All hail the Greenspan Put! Little people? Homelessness will be good for 'em. Builds character. If God didn't want 'em to get fucked he wouldn't have made it so easy.
