im keeping my droid X til i see what this next iphone offers, if the screen isn't bigger then the current model then i'll pass.
I hope they increase the screen size but keep the size of the phone small.
In response to a question at its press conference today about whether Apple could've done anything to avoid its antenna issues with the iPhone 4, Steve took the opportunity to rip on bigger rivals, saying that making a phone so big "you can't get your hand around it" helps, but that "no one's going to buy that."
Won't this actually perform better than the original "premium" one? No shorted antennas (even the Verizon has a much bigger signal drop from normal holding than any other phone), fewer drop-induced breakages, etc. Therefore to create a non-cannibalizing lower end model Apple basically needs to crank out a plastic iPhone 4.

I dont want a brick *COUGH* Droid X, Evo, Thunderbolt *COUGH* in my pocket.
my friend has an IP4 and says my droidX feels much lighter, and likes the screen better. overall it has never given me any problems fitting into a pocket. shirt or pants. brick not found.
You're half right but all wrong.iPhone is heavier because it has a more solid build. Compared to my iPhone 4 my Atrix feels like a toy.
You're half right but all wrong.
The iPhone has the *outward signs* of solid construction. It "feels" like it's well made -- as it should, since the Apple brand is all about having nice signifiers.
It falls short on actual function, however -- the antenna, of course, but in this case durability. Drop the "solid" iPhone and the Atrix onto the same surface repeatedly and you'll notice that:
(1) the extra mass of the iPhone makes it land with more force.
(2) the fancy "premium"-signifying glass back makes it twice as likely to develop a nasty glass problem.
You don't plan on dropping your phone everyday, infact the last time I dropped my phone was about 8 months ago. Now here is where the construction really comes in play. I used the iPhone 4 for about 9 months before I switched to the Atrix, not once did it squeak or make an odd noise. I have had my Atrix for about a month and when I press the button on the back I can hear squeaks and clicks all around the phone. You're half right but all wrong.

whats the big deal with a slightly larger screen size. IMO, I don't want anything bigger than the phone i have now, i played a bit with my friends desire HD, and the larger screen just doesn't seem necessary.
I am 99% certain I will not get an iphone 5, but the current size of the ip4 seems ideal to me, big enough to do what you need, but small enough to slide into any pocket.
again though, it could be slightly thicker, it feels better in the hand to be a little thicker.

Well, available, but will they be good? The most exciting features are going to come from iOS 5 in my opinion and those features are going to be available on the iPhone 4 as well.
