It's easier to type on a larger screen, gives you more spacing between letters. I'm coming from a 3.2" device to a 4".
 
I too would love to see a 4" screen on the nezt iphone but even at 3.5 its the easiest touch screen to type on. And I love one handed typing on the iphone
