Question being, why does felon Trump think it's a good thing for him to pardon and commute sentences for his fellow criminals? What does he get in return other than having him being despised for committing such travesties of justice by the public at large? Pardoning the convicted fascist Jan.6 rioters while jailing immigrants who have legal standing to be here? What does he get out of that? Personal satisfaction? Openly weaponizing our gov't agencies to get revenge on people who were serving justice as their jobs call for is OK with all of America? Defying court orders is no big deal?

If the tables were turned, would the conservative controlled SCOTUS treat a Democrat POTUS behaving in the same manner as Trump the exact same way? The Republican congress critters are fine with letting Trump do as he pleases, stomping the Constitution and Rule of Law underfoot. Would they be just as fine if a Democrat POTUS did the same?

I mean, most of the questions being posed here are ironically rhetorical, yet the answers to these questions need to be addressed sooner than later by the American voters who have say as to whether or not Trump should be left alone to be the point man for the Class War the oligarchs have been waging against the unionist middle class since the day that class rose up post WWII and claimed their rightful place in the nation's economy.

Are you familiar with MAGA voters?

I realize commuting Santos sentence is very weird and doesn't naturally fit anything MAGA. But generally speaking, these are the lowest information voters and whatever Trump does is viewed as red meat to them. There's virtually no depravity from Donny that could convince his base that they fucked up by voting for him.

Realistically speaking, you're asking a lot for (R) voters to wisen up and make better decisions going forward. Almost by definition, his MAGA base are a lost cause. So the only ones that matter are the true swing voters, the apparently confused types that voted for Trump at least once, but also for Biden in 2020. If Democrats ever want to occupy the WH again, not only do we need to energize our own voters*, we still have to capture a sliver of mostly white swing voters in a handful of key states.

The deplorables truly are "goners," as MrSquished calls them, and there's no value in believing some of them will eventually get it. By and large, MAGA is absolutely a cult.**

* Substantial Biden 2020 voters just stayed home a year ago. Some even fell for the Donny con, which is a net loss of 2 votes.
** Some people have argued that once Trump dies, the cult will remain but without a force of nature to whip them into winning the Electoral College. Only time will tell, but I'm not sanguine about our democracy. There will be some other ghoul to take the mantle from Trump.

lol neither of you have been paying attention apparently. More than likely Trump received some sort of bribe or some type of corruption was done for his benefit by santos. This has been going on repeatedly.

The warm up for the Maxwell pardon ... Trump - the Pro-crime President. Pathological liars like Santos and Trump are kindred spirits. Trump is running a criminal enterprise out of the White House and needs as many slaves as possible.

I wonder if Dementia Don understand that he pardoned a drag queen? Who always said nice things about Meeeee!!! Crimes don’t count if you vote Republican! Trump is the deep state. The republicans were just projecting.

George Santos ripped of Trump supporters. Not only commuting his sentence but pardoning the grifter so he doesn't have to pay restitution to the people he defrauded. Nothing says OWN THE LIBS! like pardoning the guy that ripped off Maga supporters.

“Having a Felon for a President is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

- George Santos

News in today in Republican Politics and policy goals:

1. Convicted con-man pardoned.
2. Elected House member denied her seat in Congress.
3. Government remains shutdown.

He sends the signal that he will pardon those who seek favor or show loyalty, and punish those who do not.

Is it just me or do all of the best administrative affairs and scandals occur on the R's watch? Of course Slick Willie gave us the dress incident but getting some side action vs selling the country down the river....right?

The Republicans firmly believe that god is on their side and therefore have no sense of shame concerning their reprehensible actions.
