I can't believe I'm asking this..... My wife loves Coach but shes been buying these for years. Whats the hottest new name??

Please shoot me.

Thanks

It might help if you have a rough budget and an idea of her tastes. Coach can equal Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, D&B, like some have mentioned...it can also stretch up to Gucci, Prada, YSL, Balenciaga, etc, territory.

It might just be easier to head over to your local luxury department store and talk to someone there - they'll know more about trends and they'll have plenty of brands to choose from.

My wife likes Coach and I'm happy to have her stick with that, because as I've discovered, the prices go way up from there. She also only gets one bag a year, two if she really wants another, and she has a career and paycheck of her own anyhow. Whatever makes her happy.

I got her a Macbook Air for Christmas, so I'm pretty sure a bag to go with that will be forthcoming.

I'm curious, why is it beautiful? It doesn't look much different than a $20-30 handbag from Target.

You forgot to tack on the "envy" premium. Know how ladies show off their "rock" on their engagement ring to make all the other bitches jealous? Well, here you don't need a man, or have to consider the humiliation of divorce. Just buy a bag, walk around, and let EVERY bitch out there know what you carrying.

I totally understand the status symbol value of an expensive purse, but the OP specifically said that the linked $1000 purse was "beautiful".

My g/f likes Kate Spade. They're well made, relatively fashionable, versatile, don't break the bank and aren't emblazoned with gaudy prints of C's or G's or LV's and what have you. Though to be fair I have started to see some with that sort of stupid print w/ the logo.

Ah, I will pull out my metro side for that. First, it's Asian, more specifically Japanese or South Korean I believe (the non-poor Asian countries), so it's "exotic".

Look at the second picture and note the fine pink stitching and detailing. The pink threading in itself is a statement. The buckles also provide an accent ontop of the exposed threading - really can't say enough about the threading. Of course, this is all assuming that it's a niche brand and the workmanship is quality (brand association bonus + individuality, non-mainstream bonus). Interior liner is also pretty nice, leather looks good. Damn, that is a nice purse...

Wow Imp, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Show me a picture of ANY retailer that could match something like this.

She likes Coach, maybe you should just stick with what she likes? Newer isn't always better, and different you won't know if you likes the brand. It's not always about how much it costs, my lady loves LV. She'd definitely take a $250 LV purse over that $1,000 one somebody linked to here. Coach bags are nice, and even the higher end ones aren't stupidly expensive.

ok here is the wild swans wallet that i wanted for a while

wildswans.co.jp is their site but it appears to be down. I wouldnt take that as anything other then them saying leave me alone.

I have a pair of their denim but I think this pic speaks to the mentality when getting into this world.
