Newegg is alright. I usually browse through there then price compare to mWave and sometimes monarch computers. There's also a local store that has prices comparable to Newegg's, so if I need something quicker I swing by there.

The fluctuating price has never affected me.

I'm not denying that newegg is a pretty good store and all it's good qualities have already been repeated to death here. I'm just saying that it has some issues with pricing that people need to take into account, and not blindly assume it's the best and/or the only place you can buy components. But just like amazon.com, it is a good starting point, especially because of the user reviews and detailed pictures and specs of products.

And Dopefiend, I can see that you've been using this thread to increase your post count with irrelevent crap, so now that you finally reached platinum level, will you take a break and find something else to do ?

There. You said it. ". . . not blindly assume it's the best and/or the only place you can buy components." I even repeated it twice for you. Let the thread die, and in the future if you welcome "counter opinions," [sic] don't sit there and accuse someone of posting crap to get their count up just because they're offering them.

Actually, I reached Platinum two days ago, which means I was already Platinum while starting to pick holes at you in this thread. Nice try, more research required.

While we're on the subject of irrelevant crap, I put it to you that starting a thread suggesting that Doom 3 is too dark and you want the lighting turned up so you can tell if the graphics are any good, is also pointless crap. Butting in to the "BestBuy screwed me over" thread and pretending that you are a moderator is also pointless & irrelevant crap.
Starting a thread that is virtually guaranteed to start a flamewar about Newegg and its pricing is also irrelevant crap.
If you want to be taken seriously on these forums, I suggest you stop posting irrelevant crap, and act as if you are older than 12.

PS. I'm glad to see that you value my opinion enough to change your sig, which proves to me that you have no spine.

I also noticed once where they had a case really cheap one day and my friend ordered it. The next day it was on those special sale things in red for $5 less and and shipping went up about $10-15.

An interesting point; having worked in computer retail (amongst other things) for a few years, I've seen this practise all too often.
However, the management staff at Newegg won't see it as an annoying business practise, they'll see it as an opportunity to make more profit, and will defend their actions as supply & demand. Which is entirely above board. Doesn't make it any easier on the end user though.

1. Mess around with prices.
2. ???
3. Profit!

Ahaha :D

Now, about that large brown bag with a "$" sign on it, where did you want it?
Oops...

I guess some people lack a basic understanding of the context in which things are said. Irrelevent crap, in this context, means anything that is not relevant to the topic of the thread, in other words it means thread crapping. The thread itself may or may not be "irrelevent" but the question is to whom ? the thread's topic is always relevent to the people trying to read the thread or contribute to the discussion. What you said about threads being "irrelevent" is quite moronic, as it could be said about almost any thread in AT, especially off topic threads.

Therefore, by making posts in a thread which are not relevant to the topic of the thread, you are crapping on the thread. And if you check, all your posts except the last one, have been irrelevant crap. I hope the last post means that you have finally seen the light and only going to post here on topic.

Yes, you do; case in point being the BestBuy thread.

An interesting rebuttal, however hypocritical it may be. I again direct you to the BestBuy thread, and point out that you were thread-crapping by attempting to act as a Moderator, which failed dismally.

Actually, three of my posts in this thread have been on-topic and relevant to the discussion of Newegg's pricing.

I would like to point out that you seem to be in a rather interesting situation here, i.e. no-one is agreeing with what you have to say, and you yourself deviated off-topic with this comment:

your userid and icon annoy me

I would also like to direct your attention towards this comment:

... and summarise that you are a hypocrite, guilty of starting flamebait threads, and once again refer you to my previous post which included the Evadman form.
You seem to be painfully unaware that your presence on this forum is becoming less tolerated by other users every time you post, and you still seem to consider yourself a moderator, quoting your twisted version of the rules here and there. I suggest you take a break from straining your remaining grey matter any further, and invite you to have a pleasant day.

back on topic, I'm just saying newegg is defintely not the place for true great deals any more, at best they are equal to other stores and rely on fast delivery to get your business. And as I said, they do price gouge occasionally.

I hope your retarded ass gets hit by a bus, and then someone pisses on your grave.

Hows that for personal attacks and irrelevant crap?

Obviously there are some mentals here which are intent on crashing this thread. Did you get the weekend off from the asylum ? why don't you go bang your head on the wall or something.

Dude, Pricewatch is your friend! If NewEgg doesn't have the lowest price, BUY IT FROM ANOTHER REPUTIBLE STORE! Geez!

How To Reply To A Flame:
By Dopefiend

Lesson 1.

Learn to write coherantly. The poster of the flame will consider your reply amusing and worthy of more flamage if you can't make your point.

Lesson 2.

Repeating yourself ad nauseum is also considered a viable target for toasty goodness. Plan your reply in advance, and, if your memory isn't all it should be, refer to your earlier witticisms and/or posts.

Lesson 3.

Know your limits. If you find yourself gaining ideas over and above your station, then you should attempt to keep yourself in check, and hug a woodchipper for at least an hour to allow your God-complex and/or capacious ego time to return to it's natural, shrivelled state.

Lesson 4.

Knowing when to give up is a vital part of being able to retain a shred of dignity. If you continue past the Point Of No Return, you may find yourself backed into a corner, with Bubba eyeing you and the soap on the floor.

Lesson 5.

Gaining something from the experience. This is, quite possibly, the most important part of discussion or debate. If you come away from your heart-pounding, rage-filled, moist-palmed debate unable to see when you're Just Not Right (TM), then the experience, as a whole, is fruitless, and you should re-examine your motives and right to life.

This concludes today's teachings on How To Reply To A Flame. Remember to keep this guide handy should you require it for the first time that you get shot down by A Girl.

OP, you obviously have no real world experience in the world of sales. This happens all the time, nuf said. I buy 90% of my stuff from newegg and will continue to do so. Stuff arrives in 3 days and packaged right.

To quote user1234 from another thread in which he stated to me,

"For some reason, your online manners don't project a very grown up attitude"

and

"I'm sure he will kick your a$$, since marines are better than the military"

I then see this gem of a thread he created. Gee, I mean there has never been any company (especially retailers) raise the prices when the demand is high, and supply is low.

You have earned my loser of the week award. I actually feel my brain cells commit suicide so they will never have to read any of your future posts.

I say, we get rid of Alan Greenspan now, and put you in there. Since you figured out the great Newegg mystery, you can easily figure out all the interest and debt problems we have now.

Wow, its like a bunch of AOL subscribers just found out they can access the internet or something. Theres an influx of morons like this on the ravematch.com forums too.
