With all the reviewers saying it needed a $50 price cut, this should shut them up. Considering it is the only sub $250 powerful gaming CPU you can build around, while having an upgrade path, it is now a compelling option.

5700X is $199 again after promo with games - https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-7-5700x-ryzen-7-5000-series/p/N82E16819113735

5500 is $89 with the game bundle- https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5500-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113737

Just saw this deal for microcenter shoppers on slickdeals. Credit goes to the poster.

MicroCenter Stores: Ryzen 5 7600X + G. Skill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-5600 (Combo) + G. Skill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-5600 for $249

Add the 7600X Processor + 16GB DDR5 Memory combo to the cart (248.99).

Then add a further module of G. Skill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-5600 to the cart, it should add $0.01 ($79.99 - $79.98) to the cost.

Total $249.

Microcenter will take a further $20 off if you add an AM5 motherboard.

It's not the latest and greatest, but still a good choice: the Ryzen 5 5600 is $118 at Amazon with the game bundle (warning: you may have to look at the other seller options to find the one sold directly by Amazon for this price), and it's still $120 at Microcenter ($95 after a coupon you can get per SD).

Big benefit of the 5600 over the 5500: PCIe4.0, which is useful if you're interested in most of the RX 65xx/66xx/67xx cards which have only 8 PCIe lanes internally (so you could see a small performance hit if you run them in a PCIe3.0 situation).

With these price cuts, I couldn't turn down the Ryzen for my new build, despite previously having my eye on the i5-12400f. After an AmEx 20% credit at Amazon for using a single membership rewards point, I got the R5 5600 for $100.

Yeah it is compelling BUT if you stayed with what you had CPU wise and put that money towards a better graphics card instead of the 7000 series upgrade.

Either way its a win. The prices are dropping everywhere except for NVIDIAs new cards.
