Info Newegg has new policies that treat customers like crap

I never venture into this forum, but I am so pissed, and there is no other appropriate place to post.

So, first, I have spent over $100,000 at newegg over the last 17 years. When I called before, they treated me nice like and if I had a valid complaint, they would satisfy me.

Example: I bought something and before it even hits my door, the price drops. They used to give me a credit on my account for the difference.

Today I got a case. I paid $80 for it. Today, it showed up on my door, and the price dropped to $60. I have not even opened the box yet. I pointed all of this out the a MANAGER at newegg, since the regular girl just said "return it and reorder, but you have to pay a 15% restocking fee". Well, there goes my $20. So they want to screw a lifetime customer that has spent $100,000 with them over a $20 credit.

Up theirs. No more newegg. Everyone that reads this beware, they have new management that does not care about the customer.

they got bought several years ago. afaik it's now somewhere between wannabe alibaba and wannabe amazon.

Does the Newegg support staff still troll these forums? If so, maybe they'll stop by and offer you something to get back your business.

The manager was dumb for not looking at account relationship but places like Amazon have stopped issuing credit for price drops. Some credit cards offer price protection against lower prices but I think lot of cards have cut or removed the price match benefit.

Newegg of today is not Newegg of old but that’s true of lot of retailers.

Well, they used to be great. Now they suck. I am going to make sure everybody knows how they screwed a loyal customer. I hope it costs them a lot more than $20

I hope so. My last comment was that they screwed with the wrong guy, and they will not get my business anymore.

$100,000 in 17 years ????? and they don't care ? I did point that out to her....

When they got bought out and became 100% Chinese owned, customer service went down hill.

People going back for adjustments is why prices are climbing to begin with. If you saw the price had gone up would you be griping if they didn't let you pay more?

It used to be a long-standing, if unstated, policy for their "good customers".

The worst part is, in Nov., and certainly around BF, they used to offer their "Iron Egg Guarantee". If you saw a lower price on Newegg or another known, legit, online retailed, they would match the price and refund the difference.

TBH, I haven't seen any mention of "Iron Egg" this year at all.

Honestly I don't blame companies for stopping the credits for price drops. If I had a business I sure as shit wouldn't do that. Didn't happen to make a sale? Oh well, sucks for you! You can't expect the business to reimburse you just due to random luck/timing IMO.

I understand you're unhappy about the situation, as I would be, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they "screwed a loyal customer".

As I said, 1) I have spent over 100,000 there. That should make me a loyal customer 2) BEFORE (several times) when a price dropped while the merchandise was in transit or like 1 day after, they gave me a credit that could use on future purchases.

NOT ANYMORE.

Eh, still often better than Amazon for PC parts, I'd say, but it depends on the day.

Per my recent experience Newegg was absolutely better for memory & power supplies
A little better for cases but it gets complicated with cases if you have amazon prime for free shipping.

Fans, coolers and storage Amazon was all over the place from a little cheaper than new egg to outrageously more expensive. Costs on some things change daily on Amazon too.

That. Newegg's policy on price matching went too far and they had to stop it. They're not treating you like crap snowflake, they're just treating you like a normal person. If you find that policy so intolerable then take your business elsewhere. Ummm, and where would that be exactly? You're not going to get that anywhere else that's worth doing business with.

Sounds like they are just following their current policies. Nothing to get butt hurt about. I'm not sure why you would expect loyalty from a faceless Chinese corporation.
