newegg customer service - Bad experience and alot "BS" in that egg

You also can't give newegg bad reviews. They actively screen each one before posting them to make sure you don't and will not post them if you try. You can submit a review saying the product was shit but newegg was magnificent, but never the inverse regardless of whether or not they genuinely did drop the ball.

well duh. if you give a product review what does that have to do with newegg?

there are sites you can (i know i have) given them bad reviews.

I've never had a problem with Newegg myself, been flawless for a decade.

But, those of you who use the chat system to converse with CSRs, do you always type with the grammar and spelling of a 12 year old? Its not just the OP, I've seen it at many places. I wonder if its just people being lazy, too used to texting that they've forgotten how to type on a real keyboard. From the perspective of a CSR, it makes the customer look like a retard.

My typing went to shit as I got angrier during the convo. My first sentences were ok [not English grad quality but good nonetheless]. If I called them on the phone idk If I would have remained nice, the situation had me ticked me off to begin with though.

Sounds like there were including things that you might not been mentioning to get them out in the open, like the games. If nothing is mentioned people always take advantage of that and 'use the system' to benefit themselves through bullshit. get conscious and take on a responsible attitude.

Take a look at Newegg's site and the Gtx 570's they sale. Here ill make it easier for you..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ue=679%3A90204

Notice the "free" game included ? Yea thats why Newegg felt I didn't deserve my full refund, almost any 570 you choose includes a Free game. Only two of their 570's are just the card and no freebies attatched.

Charging a fee for the game is not fair since you have almost no choice but to receive the "free" game no matter what.

Did you mean to reply to someone else's comment or...?

To avoid the restocking fee on a failed part, do not return for a refund. Return for a replacement.

If you want Newegg to pay attention to your displeasure, post a review at Resellerratings.com.

Read the thread. Restocking fee was waived, they tried to charge a fee for their "free" included game instead, which was returned unopened. Apples and oranges as far as a restocking fee goes, since it has nothing to do with a restocking fee.

Now it all makes sense. The clouds have parted, the bird are chirping, a nice gust of spring air.

Expecting to be able to return the item and keep the free game isn't fair either. Having problems with them getting you the full refund when you returned the games is one thing, but I don't see anything wrong with them wanting to charge people for not returning the games. You can't just go and buy an item for the free game and turn around and return the item at a full refund. The lads down at FatWallet would be all over that in a second.

Wait a second? Aren't you that asshat that can't understand shipping? I think I know why you are having problems with this. I find it interesting that despite your exceedingly descriptive threads of your problems with Newegg you still seem as happy as a pig in shit to give them hundreds more of your money.

reading comprehension fail? foot in mouf disease? :hmm:

That's pretty shady, actually. Deducting from the refund for a "free gift" is bogus. There should never be a restocking fee for defective merchandise as well. I hope this isn't a sign of where Newegg is headed.

It appears the OP didn't want a return and replacement, he wanted a better card and bought one.

In these cases, most of the time it's buyer's remorse.

I see this thread as a place to throw a tantrum and later email to the 'egg to flex some coercion on them.

Newegg is ALWAYS excellent in customer service. They aren't into doing the Costco warranty that you can upgrade every couple weeks/months.

I've only ever had one junk part from Newegg, a socket A motherboard I bought years ago. It was $39 with free shipping. The board was DOA. I didn't bother to return it. Hah.

Now, I've had a few items die on me after a year or so of use, but that isn't Newegg's fault. I hate dealing with RMAs. I just buy replacements and move on.

I returned an open box video card to newegg not long ago. I wanted to upgrade and I even told the CS that was why I was returning it. She said well I'm going to have to charge you a restocking fee. I said" but I'm returning this card so I can buy the $500 asus GTX 580 you have." She was happy to drop the restocking fee. I did buy the 580.

I will not hesitate to shop there anytime. Only problem is I usually find the parts I need used on the for sale forum here or I find it cheaper on amazon.

You really can't blame newegg. Pc part buyers are the cheapest people I've ever seen. I don't know what it is but it's pretty prevalent among the pc community. A part can be $100 and not one person will buy it. You drop the price $10 to make it $90 and you'll have people robbing their grandmother to get the money together.

I'd rather be able to pay a restocking fee to upgrade with buyer's remorse than be stuck with an item. In reality, I shop first and never needed to do an RMA for myself. I have had customer's and friends have to eat those fees usually after not following the recommendations I gave.

Sounds like you got what you wanted so what's the problem?

I returned a video card to Newegg earlier this year. It came with a "free" game as well and I actually forgot to put the stupid key code card back in the box when I sent it back. Fired up Newegg's CSR chat, explained that I meant to return it but was getting charged the $59 for it. Rep said no problem, refunded it. Didn't even make me send back the game key code even though I offered.

He's complaining about not getting the full refund even after returning the games. That I can understand. What I can't understand is why he thinks it is unfair for Newegg to seek a refund on these free games when one seeks a refund on the product that the bundled the games. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if he was seeking a replacement as opposed to a return. Which leads me to the second point that he's already complained bitterly about Newegg but he still went with them to purchase his replacement card.

A refund for free games is one thing, but a $59 butt rape charge for a game that goes for $11.62 new in full retail packaging is another:

I'm just surprised that even now douchebags haven't noticed that the people who have the most trouble dealing with companies are douchebags.

OP is in the right but he sounded like a total twat almost the entire time.

wtf rude? are you nuts? he was dicked around for weeks. the time for being nice was past.

also he was not rude in the least.

There's one rather glaring problem with your statements... "Claire" was not necessarily (and most likely not) the person that "dicked around" the OP for the past two weeks. She may be serving as a representative of NewEgg, but given the OP believes his problem lies with other customer representatives, how is that the fault of this one if she does her job?

I've had bad customer service experiences from Newegg on my last few purchases there. I'm done with them. Too bad, they used to be great back in the day.

after dealing with them twice. them promising they would fix it and not doing it i cant blame him.

Newegg is not the same company it was 10 or even 5 years ago. they used to be the first place i would shop. now? i check around.
