everyone who has abandoned newegg, what do you use now?

I probably spend hundreds of dollars there a month on misc. computer parts, I rarely have any issues, and when I do they resolve them quickly and the right way....

Wait a second? Aren't you that asshat that can't understand shipping? I think I know why you are having problems with this. I find it interesting that despite your exceedingly descriptive threads of your problems with Newegg you still seem as happy as a pig in shit to give them hundreds more of your money.

Good point:
http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2190837

That makes me wonder what parts of the story we didn't hear. Maybe Newegg really did mess up this time, or maybe the OP demanded guaranteed 3-day shipping of his refund and only sent back the bare card without the games at first.

I've only had positive experiences with Newegg over the last decade-plus, so I trust them more than the OP.

A refund for free games is one thing, but a $59 butt rape charge for a game that goes for $11.62 new in full retail packaging is another:

http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Arkham-.../dp/B001E8QA2E

It was more than one game.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832777008
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832205027

So from Newegg at the moment the two games are worth $48. The amount they wanted to charge him was $49. Seems perfectly fine to me.

Yup, one of the games was NBA something 2011 [49$ auto add] - never opened it I hate sports games anyways. The other game was Batman: Arkham Asylum that didn't even come in a case, its just a slip of paper with a code to type in at Nvidia to download...Never used it either, sent them both back just as they arrived.

The restocking fee was not a issue it was waived right away, but I was never ever told I was going to be charged for the "free" games if I refunded [the reps claimed that was waived before i even sent the card back]. And I had no idea that that was why my full refund wasn't given until today. The other two CS's just promised they would give me my $49 which I assumed was a restocking fee issue, but instead they just got ready to go home/havesex with the boss.

OP, have you figured out how shipping times work yet?

Yep. 3 day shipping = arrives in 3 business days
If item arrives after 6 business days, despite being promised "3" days, that = fail and I get a gift card. Works pretty well for me.

I also got my $49 back and a apology from Newegg...And another Gift card.

All in all newegg is a great company and like people they make mistakes, and they own up to them when that happens - which is why I still buy from newegg. I cant say the same for other companies I have bought from in the past [who are now RIP - no surprises there].

Sounds like they'd be better off without you as a customer. Why do you patronize such large corporations anyway? You're one of those anti-corporatism OWS types IIRC.

Have you figured out the difference between shipping time and processing time?

I've moved onto Amazon. Faster shipping, cheaper prices, and have easily returned stuff there. Never had problems with Newegg but Amazon is just so much better.

I've actually done the same. With Amazon prime I get everything really fast too. Newegg is cheaper on a few things, but the fast shipping plus the amazon loyalty & easy returns are enough to keep me with them.

wow...so first Newegg is at fault because of the weather and UPS not being able to move packages. Now they are at fault even when it was made right? I don't see the issue you have...everything is good now no?

Should have used a good credit card, like an Amex. You can just call Amex and have the charge removed, no questions asked. 1 year extended warranty also and everything purchased with an Amex.

So, I purchased a 500$ 7970 Vapor-X Ghz edition video card from NewwEgg. Two weeks later the card crapped out, so I gave them a call. They told me they would not RMA the card and that I should call Sapphire. So I got ahold of Sapphire a week later and they told me that it has only been a few weeks and to get ahold of NewEgg... So I got a hold of newegg again, and this time they waited so long to respond I had now onwed the card for 31 days. They said since it was 31 days old they could NOT issue a refund, or return the card, and any further dealings would have to be between me and Sapphire. They guy also to me I should try and Craiglist it and that I should have gotten a hold of him sooner? This is a true story....

You also can't give newegg bad reviews. They actively screen each one before posting them to make sure you don't and will not post them if you try. You can submit a review saying the product was shit but newegg was magnificent, but never the inverse regardless of whether or not they genuinely did drop the ball.

you can post on resellerratings, unfortunately newegg is still one of the highest rated sellers there.

So instead of calling, you email, didn't get a response, and finally called them on the 31st day? You're dumb bro.

And...NECRO!!!!

Yep, I quit shopping at Newegg due to their restocking and pay return shipping policies.

I may look for products from their site, but I always buy from Amazon now. Newegg's layout is much better than Amazon's.

Newegg was ok 5 years ago, but it seems that once the IPO filing occurred it went down hill pretty fast.

This sounds like you are lying to get even for yourself waiting too long.

Newegg has been great for me. I've been their customer for over 10 years now and have purchased over $8000 worth of stuff.

I got another good experience with Newegg few weeks back...

Ordered CS1 Polk Center channel > next day price dropped $10 > I asked if they would match it, they said their policy states that cannot do that but they gave me a $10 gift card anyways.

Now that's going up and beyond if you ask me.

Thumbs up for newegg.
