Newegg Core 2 Duo ...Look

It's got to be a mistake. Neweg wants to sell their CPUs and they wont until the fix their prices. I expected newegg's prices to be lower than other online retails and if they are not, they have really let me down.

Same here!
Looking for a retail 6600 and will only buy from NewEgg. Never had 1 bad experience with them in 6 years and I order alot from them.

Newegg is getting ridiculous. They wait until August 7th to get Core 2 Duos, then they price gouge so bad you'll want to shop elsewhere.
Look at the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+, newegg didn't do a price cut on it for some reason.

Everybody saying it's a mistake STFU already. The prices have been up for several hours, and it's been brought to their attention countless times if it were a mistake it would be corrected already.

As soon as other retailers actually have them, and list them at a lower price Newegg will drop the price. I can't believe you guys are surprised, Newegg has proven time and time again that they are not above price gouging

I smell and call price gouging.. ZZF for my next processor purchase for sure!

Yeah truly. Mistake my ass.

Disappointing to see Newegg price gouging to this extent - looks like I will be picking up the parts for my new system through another site.

lol I feel bad for you guys. My cousin owns a mom and pop computer store and I'm getting a 6300 for $160 and an Asus P5B for $120. If I couldn't get those at those prices, I probably wouldn't be able to upgrade right now. 😱

AHAHAHAHA $400 for an E6300? GTFO!! For TWO of them maybe, but I only need one, so Newegg: Call me when you cut that $390 price in half and I'll buy one. Idiots.

edit: UltimateNewbie - you realize you could sell them to us on this forum for $190 shipped and sell a BUNCH of them, right? 🙂

if it's a mistake then call them and ask them what the correct price is.

Mistake my ass. Newegg just lost a $13000 customer for life.

Anyone else writing a Review for the product to note how overpriced it is? I'm sure it won't make it to the page but at least whoever approves reviews will see all the reviews coming in complaining about the price and figure out there's an error there.

Haha yeah, I called him a few minutes ago and he was laughing at the whole newegg situation. He's not gonna sell below retail though, I only get that price because of family discount. 😉

putting it in perspective, an x2 3800+ was $290 about 2 weeks ago.

A 6300 is $219 today....and absolutely pummels an FX-62 when OC'd....

I seriously doubt the claims of intel "fanbois" (French?) being owned....

intel fanbois = pwned

Meh...I'm far more a fan of AMD than Intel, but I'm still going to buy a Core 2 chip, because as much as I like AMD, they just don't have anything the comes anywhere close to the performance of the Core 2 chips, and they don't intend to for quite some time yet.

Looks like Newegg is gettin a little too big for it's britches. I guess it's time to find a new vendor and do a permaswitch. ClubIT is worth a look I suppose.
This is a big letdown newegg!!!! Just in case you are here reading these threads. You now have lost my money even if the prices drop to MSRP tomorrow.
