And what if newegg didn't "gouge" and sold them at MSRP? You very likely wouldn't have gotten one anyway because they would have sold out in a very short period of time and you'd find yourself crying about that too...

And lets not lose perpective. If any of you guys have owned a house for a while, the value has very likely gone up... a lot. If you go to sell it, wouldn't you ask for the highest possible price the market could bare? Thought so... and a roof over our heads is a lot more necessary than the latest chip of silicon.

You call that perspective? I'm a damn real estate appraiser and I know full well that real estate is NOTHING like the tech market.

Values start high (depending on where and what it is) and goes UP more likely than goes down. A piece of technology (Core 2 Duo for one example) Is worth the most only at the time of release. Then it is all downhill until it reaches budget status eventually. I will not buy from Newegg, because I am finally sick of the gouging. And they are asking almost DOUBLE what the MSRP is supposed to be. That is shameless.

Still a price bump of over $70 above MSRP but not as bad as it was.

Yes, still a big gouge although not abominable like it was. They must be reading the forums all over. I know we are not the only ones complaining. Mistake or not.

While Im a big lover and supporter of OEMs, an extra $60 for a 3 year warranty is not really such a bad deal for an expensive chip. Is also helps with resale down the road. This however might not be such a big deal since there are no messy pins to deal with anymore.

Damn, some of you guys are extremely stupid. There are a LOT of ex-helmet wearers here. LOL! Bet you that when ZZF and the other post their prices they'll be VERY close to Newegg's prices. How many times have we heard from Anand and company that the prices will be high because of the low supply? Why are the IDIOTS here still suprised? Newegg and others will keep them high as long as demand is high. If would've payed attention in high school (some of you are still there mentally even though you've graduated), you would know this ******.

yeah, but it's left a bad taste in the mouth.. not to mention they still aren't the cheapest out there.. other reliable vendors are selling for less and in stock so why bother with screwegg.. specially since they charge shipping on most items regardless if u buy them together.. leaves no incentive to make group purchases... lowest price wins.. always.. newegg should know that.. sadly, they're letting go of the very principles that have taken them to these heights today..

I mostly shop at Monarchcomputer.com. They have more reasonable shipping charges and no tax for Californians.

I paid $204 for an E6300 at eWiz.com this morning. Now it's $211 shipped. I love the egg... but you have to wait for good deals on the new stuff.
