<< I had a rude CSR once with newegg. I just hung up and called back to get someone else. There are always bad apples, but don't let that affect you view of the whole company (unless you get this every time you call them). >>

if he get treated the same on every call, i am beginning to wonder if it's a newegg problem.

Yeah dude, sounds like one bad CSR is giving Newegg a bad name.

Unfortunately you really need her name to really nail her. That suprises me that she wouldn't give it to you.

Nevertheless, keep trying to get to a supervisor.

Good luck!

The quickest way to RMA is online. That way, you get an almost immediate RMA number and can ship it out right away. That's where the low prices in e-business comes in, because of less paid labor.

As for getting someone rude a few times in a row, that's rare. I called a couple times before and always got happy cheerful people on the other end.

Alright, just got off the phone with the supervisor. The lady that transfered me to him had a diffrent voice and did it with no problem so it was good there. The supervisor was a great help too. WAY better then the CSR. I told him about me posting on here and other people saying they have been having problems and he logged on and read the threads and was saying if he had a name of the csr that she would be in big trouble. So as for there customer support... if you have trouble just try to get in touch with the supervisor, he will get everything worked out.

He charged me $37 for a new stick of ram (what i payed when i bought it) and said that as soon as i ship the broken one back he will credit me with $37 and an extra $15 for shipping.

So great supervisors over there at Newegg.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but I've only had wonderful dealings with Newegg. Hope this is an isolated incident.

<< and about bad CSR? What about me waiting 3 weeks for the same thing that i had payed $4 to ship to them in the first place? In that 3 weeks i lost a ton of clients because im unable to work without ram. >>

You stopped working for 3 weeks because you were missing a RAM stick? Yikes, that's a pretty weak work ethic, or perhaps you're exaggerating just a little bit? The true part of your experience was bad enough, no need to embellish it.

The company left a bad taste in my mouth after my first shopping experience and it has remained my last with them. Basically, the video card that they had on their website was different from what I received. The card on the website should a configuration with video outputs for my tv and such. I checked the model number against the manufacturer's website and the card that was advertised there also had video outputs. Well my card came 5 days later and was the same model number but was lacking video outputs. After doing some research I realized that the model number came in 2 flavors and differed by a 2 letter abreviation that is added onto the model number at the end. So basically, Newegg didn't give the complete model number, but showed a picture of the card with outputs on it. The problem came in after I receieved the card and Newegg updated their listings for the video cards and included the correct pictures of the various cards and provided two seperate SKUs. I explained what happened to a customer service rep and they stated that I would need proof of the change if I was to get an exchange without loosing the restocking fee. BTW, the CSR was very rude to me as well and didn't want to hear my story. There wasn't much that I could do at that point and it was my word against their's, but I did not appreciate getting the switch around after hearing how great and honest they where. Would I recommend not shopping from them? I guess that depends on what you are willing to risk or go through, but I will spend my money elsewhere since I can control who "screws" me :)

I just got a new Enermax case from them less than a week ago. Arrived perfectly and very quick. Same with my video card I ordered from them that previous time before the case :)

I recently ordered a Chieftec case from Newegg, and it was damaged when it arrived. I had no trouble RMA'ing it and they shipped me a new one without any problems -- in fact I received it before I'd reboxed the damaged one for return.

I've had mixed experiences with Newegg. I'll give them credit where due: good prices, even after the express saver shipping, inventory availability is pretty accurate, and the option to not store CC info after the transaction. My bad experiences have to do with a pre-sales email to customer service... let's just say a certain CSR was curt in his reply after asking which model they were picturing and selling (they listed a board that, according to the manufacturer's webpage, included onboard LAN but newegg showed a picture of one without) and implied I couldn't read(!),. Thanks Newegg? :|

I've had good experiences with NewEgg, but I've also had enough bad experiences that I personally won't shop there anymore. Every time I see a thread like this, the person gets crapped on for not calling back or not being aggressive enough to talk to a supervisor or complain or something along those lines. To all those people, good customer service means not having a customer need to complain in the first place. It's great that they will do something if you bitch enough, but it shouldn't ever get that far.

Y are you people crucifying this guy?? are you absolutely positively sure that NEWEGG WILL NEVER GO BAD?

OMFG people. just because you had a GOOD experience it doesn't mean that EVERYONE will. Truth is, there have been a lot more Newegg complaint posts lately. how many before you will finally acknowledge there is a problem.

it's the IBM gxp 75 all over again. people kept trying to post that these hd were going bad but everyone was like, no mine is ok so you must be full of sh!t. well guess what. there was a problem w/ those hds.

With the price of ram being as low as it has in the past few months, and knowing you are running apps that are memory dependent, why do you not have an extra stick or two of RAM lying around in the event something like this happens?
