Alright, heres my situation. I ordered tons of computer stuff from them a few months ago and it was all running well and i thought they were the best, till a few weeks ago a stick of ram died on me. I called them up and about an hour of getting things right (they said i never ordered from them) i finnaly was able to send them the ram for replacment. I send them the ram (paying the shipping). Im expecting a week or week and a half tops to get new stuff..... try 3 ****ing weeks. I make webpages and use a lot of photoshop and require a lot of ram to run smooth. Hard to do when your waiting 3 weeks to get your new s***t. Well today i get it and its in a box big enough to put a motherboard in... strange for 1 ram stick. I open it up put ram in and its the same ****ing dead stick of ram i sent them. I was so pissed. I figure its a mix up and ill just keep my cool and explain them the situation. I called them up and the lady starts off with "can i get your order number please?" and i ask where would that be and she does a *sigh* and responds with "forget it"... "give me the RMA number". She was sounding really rude and asks me to hold on a second. i wait 30 seconds and she comes back to the phone laughing.... i dunno what about but was kinda strange. She says "you ordered 2 rom sticks" and since it was only 1 RAM stick and i was replacing it i said "what?" she responds with "if you cant hear me raise up the volume on your phone". I told her to forget and that i'll just send it back to crucial.

It was the meanist customer support lady ive ever dealt with in my life and would strongly recomend taking your business elsewhere.

Lemme know what you guys think and if you have ever had problems.

Wow. :Q I can't believe that happened to you. I always order stuff at Newegg and never nothing happened like that, they are always very polite and fast with their RMAs and products.

I don't think you'll find the audience here to particularly sympathetic, as the majority of us who have dealt with newegg have been exceptionally pleased. That having been said, no company is perfect, & eff ups are bound to happen.

BTW, your title is completely unnecessary, & will most likely result in an ass roasting.

Yours.

You know, there have been more and more stories like this popping up in the last month or so.

Newegg may have grown a little too fast to keep the same level of service they've had in the past. They did recently start a presence on Yahoo.

Don't flame this guy. For him, Newegg HAS turned bad. You can't discount that.

You should get her name and file a complaint. I never used to do this but my friend always does this and it seems to help in the future. Many times, he has gotten compensated financially for very bad customer service.

I had a rude CSR once with newegg. I just hung up and called back to get someone else. There are always bad apples, but don't let that affect you view of the whole company (unless you get this every time you call them).

That's what I would have done. You'd be amazed at how many people don't write down the name of who they speak with.

ALWAYS get their name and document your phone conversations.

I know what you are saying but, if we started a thread every time someone had a good experience at newegg......

Alright, back again. I just checked the ram again to make sure it doesnt work and it didnt. And i know they were great in the past. I've recomended so many people to them, just recently a friend who ordered almost $2000 worth of stuff from them. They were the best a few months ago, now they are just going bad... happens to em all. As for calling back.... No thanks, i had trouble the first time and thats enough for me. I'll call crucial and ask them. When it broke a few weeks ago i called crucial befor i called newegg and asked if they would replace it. The lady over there was real nice and i figured it might would be quicker if i just called newegg, and about an hour after hanging up with newegg placing the return crucial called me back to see if it worked out with Newegg. So im going to call them tommarow and ask for a replacment.

Make sure to get the NAME of who you speak with (in case they're rude or make empty promises).

I will defenitly get the name but im sure it will go by fine over there, never had a bad one at crucial. At around 5 calls to newegg, probably 3 have been bad.

The best company i have ever dealt with was Value America. For those of you who have been here awhile probably remember the deal they had $100 of an $200 order..... It happened when the dreamcast came out and people were getting dreamcasts for $100. They probably honored every single order too... it might be what led them to go out of business but still. Also on my order there it had been 2weeks since i ordered my DC and i called them and when i talked to there CSR they gave me a FREE Dreamcast game, a FREE Memory card and sent my stuff out overnight shipping the next day for my troubles.

Yeah, I know. All I'm saying is that it's the bad experiences people bitch about. And there is a lot more bitching about Newegg than there used to be, that's all.

<< One bad customer service rep. makes for a rotten Newegg? >>

No, a sharp increase in rants on this board about bad CS reps at Newegg makes for a bad smell coming from their general direction.

I would be curious to know if newegg does their own CS or it is outsourced. A bad CS company almost put Handspring out of business before they ever really had gotten started. Either case newegg is still responsible.

Don't count them out yet. Try to get a hold of someone in management and explain your situation.

Good for you! If we go through life afraid of confronting others, they will step all over us. Let us know what happens ASAP!

ok no im am ****ing pissed. I just called back and it sounded like the same lady, and she didnt give me her name. I asked her to transfer me to the super visor and she tryed to work around it

me: "Hi, i just called about 5 minutes ago and ask to speak to the supervisor and was hung up on"
her: "ummm ok..... what can i help you with"
me: "just that."
her: "Would i beable to get your order number?"
me: "no no, just wanted to talk to the supervisor"
her: "uhh, ok"
*click*

no hold or nothing just straight hang up.

Im not sure on her name i think 2 calls ago she said Julie but im not posative. If i get a name im writing it down but im not getting any this time.

is this even the right number to call? its on my newegg paper i got with my box. 1-800-390-1119

this is getting really strange. Im going to try and disguise my voice or something in about 5 minutes when i call back.
