I ordered $800 worth of merchandise back in October 2005 and did not have a single problem with the items or customer service. I do agree about the shipping charges becoming excessive and personally don't care for UPS, but these are minor complaints when it comes to the fact that they still have some of the best prices available. Until I have problems, I will continue to use them as one of my suppliers for computer components. I hope the OP gets his issue resolved and receives better service from now on.
 
Everyone has there own experiences. I've seen quite often how someone will contact Newegg and their CS won't fix the problem. That person then posts on reseller ratings or on a forum to complain...then all of a sudden Newegg cares about you.

A year or two ago there was a lot going on about Newegg bribing customers to remove or edit negative reseller ratings in order to fix their problems. Don't know if that is still the case.

I still occasionally shop there when I find a good deal. I stopped mainly because their processing time typically tripled from what it used to be and shipping became expensive/slow. I still love them for sending those 2 60GB Hitatchi 7200RPM notebook drives for $60 each about 2 years ago. 🙂 Typical prices at other places was around $200.
