:disgust: Newegg blows big chunks. I made an order with them that got hung up, and when I asked why I just got a bunch of crap from their customer service, was told to just wait and that , basically, they didn't need my $1000+ order and to bug off. I couldn't believe that a customer service rep would tell someone this, but wanting to be the good sport I waited another day (a total of three) for them to process my order before I cancelled it.
So I made my order between two other outfits, because neither had the exact same items. It seems that because I live in a small rural community where they don't deliver mail to your door, coupled with the fact that the issuer of my debit card doesn't bother with alternate addresses there was a bit of an issue with verification.
The two other outfits both let me know that was the problem within about two hours of their respective opening times. One email and one five minute phone call had my stuff processed and shipped that same day. Not only that I was able to get better stuff at a cheaper price. The only inconvienience was two seperate orders.
If Newegg had just taken a moment to say "hey we can't verify your info, here's wehat you need to do", then they wouldn't have lost a customer. Iwould never ever suggest them to anyone. I know that lots of people have good stories, and that's great, but beware.

ahh that feels better. Yes I know I rambled a bit, but after having been in the PC cust svc field for quite a while it makes me angry to get someone who treats customers like they suck. If he were my employee he'd at least be getting a written reprimand and sent back to training. 😀
Studies have shown that 1% of the world agrees with you.

I've dealt with Newegg many times and spent thousands with them. They've always been great to me. I've had problems with hardware before and they've been extremely easy to work with.

They're no longer the best price, but I continue to shop with them due to the service I've received in the past.

Newegg has always been excellent to me too. I've ordered thousands of dollars worth of equipment from them and it's always arrived quickly and well packed. I've even had to do numerous RMA's which were quick and pain free.

OP's professionalism < Newegg's professionalism

Sometimes being friendly makes a big difference. I'm going to guess that you were all pissy when you called, and the rep didn't want to argue with you.

however RMA + Newegg = best ever

ZZF definitely has waaaaaay better prices because of free shipping and no tax for me in TN. i dont know why newegg has to have an office in fvcking TN all of a sudden. ive spent 10-15 thousand dollars at zipzoomfly recently because newegg charges tax now 🙁

couldnt have said it better... there used to be free shipping for almost everything... now i hate newegg.... (not just cause of shipping either)

Agree with the statement above saying Newegg has slipped quite a bit.

Changes in shipping turn around time, increases in shipping charges, and less competitive pricing have made me join the ranks of those who use NE's EXCELLENT site/navigation/search capabilities to find what I want, but go to other e-tailers to actually make purchases.

I've found I get as good, and in most cases better and faster service, for less, with the likes of ZZF.

They are still a good vendor. They are no longer "the great vendor" that nobody else comes close to in terms of prices and service. They've gotten too big for their britches. They aren't the cheapest and they no longer offer the best service. While still one of my favorites, I do order from other venders pretty frequently these days.

Now that newegg claims that Fedex shipping is much more expensive than UPS, the likelihood of me using them in the future has gone down quite a bit 🙁

Newegg used to be the best eTailer for computer parts, bar none.

Unfortunetely they have made a lot of changes, and now they aren't near as awesome as they used to be.

And sadly, they're still the best eTailer for computer parts, bar none.

im still here, but I also have customer service paying attention to any feedback so we can be aware of problems and try our best to improve. =)

my only complaint with the egg these days is that it seems their shipping costs have gone up. however their prices are always the best or close to the best and their support and fast processing make them worth the small price premium.

btw, neweggvp and rep, i'm planning an order soon, any chance for a deal ... ? ;-)

btw, what's been the reason for the downhill in service?

To be fair; I've never had the slightest issue with them, but my nephew has had nothing but headaches. He's even had to get lawyers involved twice. Some people just aren't meant to shop at newegg I think.

If you are black/hispanic/asians, sue them for racism.
If you are white, sue them for reverse-racism.
