State Senator Eric Adams, a former NYPD Captain, told us he's going to push for an amendment next week to exempt police officers from the high-capacity magazine ban. In his words, "You can't give more ammo to the criminals"

They even admit that the limit only affects law abiding citizens. At least they're not even trying to disguise their true intentions anymore.

I'm fairly certain that Eric Adams was being metaphorical, referring to this extremely insignificant technicality being rhetorical ammunition for right-wing gun-wielding scum (aka criminals even if they don't know it).

Both parties enjoy the police state, I assure you they will never be bothered by the letter of the law, for they will be deemed immune to it.

Well that is funny as shit.

Of course they cant explain why a trained police officer cant be protected by 7 rounds while an untrained citizen can.

Of course they can't, because there is no sound explanation.

Should be a lesson to liberals everywhere. But it won't be. :(

Why? Many or perhaps most on the left are thrilled or at least satisfied with this. The ends justified the means and the means are technically correct. The government is exercising it's power to control for the greater good. It's perfect.

If I were a cop, I'd carry a 1911 instead of a glock.

Cops in like LA carry 1911's fine.

Considering your knowledge of firearms comes from Call of Duty that means absolutely nothing.

There is a reason Glocks are so popular, they may not be pretty but every time you pull the trigger you can be assured that it will fire no matter how roughly it has been treated.

Don't have a Glock yet, I'm a Sig and Hk fanboi, but I picked up dozens of 17 and 33 rd mags for my future Glock 17 :) They also work in my Keltec Sub 2000 in the mean time.

Only reason I don't have it yet is I'm putting that 500 towards rifles and magazines first; handguns won't be endangered for a while yet, only the magazines might be gimped.

It probably is a good idea to have police subject to the same rules as everyone else.

And it would cut down on the bad publicity like when they shoot up some guy with 51 bullets.

1911's, you'd have like half the number of shots, or less.

Marginally less outrage.

Hey here's an idea. As a prototype lets strip law enforcement of all weapons then we can see how that works. That way you'll have grounds and a basis for further confiscation. Call Cuomo and tell him he can't have guns. I'm sure he'll subject himself to that for the greater good.

I suppose that's what happens when you knee jerk a bill through without even having time to properly read through it.

The thing is to get a 1911 that is as reliable as a $500 Glock 17 you will have to spend a lot more, many 1911 models go for $1k or more. Plus a 1911 pretty much limits you to. 45acp while Glock has models for all major handgun calibers. Finally Glocks are double action only without a physical safety which many people consider better for a carry gun.

you can get a decent selection of 9mm 1911's now, but yeah, ballpark figure of a grand for a decent one is correct.

if you cant accurately shoot a glock, the solution is not a 1911, its to get a new job because you shouldnt be allowed to carry

a 9 mm might not even kill the person you are aiming at. Might as well use a 22LR Ruger Mark II. The 9mm might bounce off a car window.

I would rather have 7 or 8 really strong rounds that are guaranteed to kill than some wimpy rounds that might not do the job. If someone breaks into your house you want to kill them with the first shot.

Might have to order some 10-round mags for my G19. If this goes naiional, there's going to be some serious demand/price-gouging.
