I just finished it last night. Overall, I'd say it's a good game, although it could be better. I feel like there was a few too many lulls, a few too many cutscenes, not enough long uninterrupted firefights. (Not that I don't appreciate the cutscenes - the game's storyline is surprisingly engaging and I'm glad they put in the effort to give it an interesting plot.) On the other hand, I felt everything was a little more staggered than it should have been.
The opening prologue is well-designed and does a great job of setting up a foundation for the rest of the game, but it doesn't capitalize on it enough. There is a decent build-up to the end of the game, and a serviceable climax; but the build-up isn't built up enough, and the climax isn't climax-y enough.
Don't get me wrong, the game was mostly pretty badass, but I feel like they could've "turned it up" a couple more notches, you know?
There were some pretty cool levels; one of my favorites being (spoilers)
You can tell this game was made by some of the same people who made Chronicles of Riddick.
The couple levels near the end were pretty great. End boss fight was meh... really easy, as long as you know what to do. But the ending was satisfying enough.
I still stand by my opinion that the graphics are great. It's similar to RAGE in that if you look at the textures under a microscope, it doesn't look great; but the general detail of the rooms and environments as a whole is fantastic. The way the objects in the environments, the lighting, the shadows, and the particle effects all mesh together makes it a really beautiful game. There were several parts when I had to stop to admire my surroundings and take a screenshot. It's definitely one of those games that makes me pause and go "Man, we're living in the future". So there's that.
I'm happy to report that the game ran pretty smoothly with the High preset on my 7870 at 1080p. Didn't feel the need to wait around for any game patches or driver updates at all. There are several people who claim to have performance problems (mostly with AMD) but fortunately I'm not one of them.
Is it worth $60? Probably not, unless you're really in need of a good singleplayer shooter. $45 is a fine price if this is the kind of game you like (which is where I stand). Most people will be patient and for a sale, which is completely reasonable.
Yeah, I was a little disappointed with that too. Maybe we'll get to do it in a DLC or something. :hmm:

the part where you go undercover in the prison, sneak through the administrative building and help reprogram the robots to help the inmates escape.

I finished it today as well. I thought it was a really solid and memorable single player shooter. I ended up getting 13.7 hours out of it with a moderate amount of exploration.
One thing bothered me --Why the hell didn't we get to kill Frau Engel?! I was totally looking forward to it and it never happened.
